Add me to the four stroker crowd, I love it, but that is personal choice. Saw Woody and his crew running their new Nytros today up at the grass drag field in Bowdoinham, those new nytros have some nasty torque..

Having been in this sport for the last many years, I have to say that you arn't in it for the savings!
Many years ago we all joked around and said how this was a hundred dollar a day habbit... ( not including break downs, cost of machines, etc.)
Now... It costs over a c note to get your auto to the town you want to ride out-of, never mind home!
Sorry for hijacking your thread... I didnt do it on purpose.... Just wanted to shed some insite. No matter what you spend for a sled.... It will still cost you down the road!!!!!!
Happy trails!

my SDI is as good as any 4 stroke I've seen. Sure it burns some oil- 3000 mile season it probbaly burns 5-6 gallons but for $150 I'm not going to worry about that.

I used to be a die hard 2-stroke fan and though I would never be happy with a 4-banger. Took the plunge with an '05 Vector and can honestly say I would never seriously consider a 2-stroke again. Even though they can get good mileage from the latest trick injected 2-strokes I really think they're pushing the burn down envelope and would not expect engine life to approach even 1/2 of any 4-stroke. I also love that my suit doesn't pick up the oil smell after a good ride. So the 4-stroke weights more. I haven't found that to be a issue so far. I'm only 150 lbs after Thanksgiving dinner and it doesn't bother me in the least.

Last year I was standing behind a friend's Vector warming up my hands on the exhaust. I then said out loud, is this thing running? Yes the exh was blowing on my hands dumb ass.

Yeah to anyone who thinks cross country skiers hate loud sleds come up on them with one they cant hear.
A few years a go in stetson I jumped the snowbank that ends the trail onto the road and the people in the house at the end of the road were all standing outside getting their sleds ready. Then never heard me coming till my sled landed on the road and they were about 100 ft from the trail. They heard my fathers sled coming behind me so when i popped out of the woods first it was quite the surprise. They all turned and looked so quick I thought I ran something over. We all got a good laugh out of that one.
