Wawayanda State Park is 2 minutes away from Upper Greenwood Lake, the trails are opened when there is enough snowfall, you need NJ registration and Insurance, there is no grooming and the trails are rocky, tight and short, two slightly better places to ride within 45 minutes of Wawayanda are Harriman State park and High Point State park (they are only slightly better)

You may want to consider places like Pecks pond in the poconos. You can download maps from the dcnr website. Also consider Summit in NY.They are near huner mt. but the short ride will provide you with better riding.

Waywayanda, Stokes Forest/High Point are nj Park areas with maps you can see on the DEP state website. Lake Welsh in Harriman State Park and trails by Stewart Airport, all are nothing to write home about. As President of the GWL club, we ride mostly north of Lake George. check out our website at www.nysnowmobilers.com or email me at info@nysnowmobilers.com. Be careful of riding on the Lake, very dangerous due to air bubblers by marinas cause cracks across the lake. Our club will be at the Breezy Point in on Presidents weekend for the winter carnival if it freezes doing radar runs.

Thanks for the info... I would try out Waywayanda only if it gets dumped with snow... i only visit every so often, and I would have to time it right.
