I am thinking of buying a 440 and i have a machine shop at my home and was wondering if anyone has diagrams or knows the dimensions to the 440 pump gas head and if it is even possible to cut the head my self? I would greatly appreciate anything.

I would love to know this information as well, anyone? If anyone knows what the chamber volume is for the low comp head that would be of great benefit.

I have both heads on my bench right now, but don't know how to get the right info from them to help you out.
If it doesnt take to much time, I'll try and help out. Sorry I'm working 15hr days.

You could measure what the squish is where the dome meets the head surface... let me know if you don't understand what I mean. Otherwise you could measure the volume by installing a spark plug and filling the chamber with a fluid and measure how much it took using cc s. Anyone else know of a better way to do this? Or explain it?

This doesn't help quite as much but just measuring the cranking compression of both the low and high comp head using a compression gauge (measured in psi) is another way to go.

Thanks,
