Ive got a bit more info for all of ya wanting to install a valve on the pto bearing of a 440.We just got done doing 2 of them this morning and ive got some good info for ya.The first one we did we took the motor apart to see if its possible and safe to do without taking the motor apart. After experimenting with it we came up with a way which makes it totally safe to do without any worries of getting anything in the motor. We ended up using a 17/64 drill bit.The 1/4 was a bit small. What we did after taking out the grease fitting was put a little grease on our finger a pushed it into the hole. Then took a punch the same size of the hole and pushed the grease to the bottom of the hole forming a wal of grease.Next we put grease on the tip of our bit and smoothed it outaround the bit. When we started drilling all of the shavings stuck to the grease on the bit.We drilled very slow and had a vacuum on sucking around the bit allso as akipilot explained. We took out the bit every couple of secs. and cleaned the metal off and reapplied more grease to the bit.Like i said we did the first one apart so we know for sure NOTHING entered the motor. The next one we did we left the engine right in the sled and when we were done we looked in the hole and there was absolutlly no shavings on the grease we put in the hole!Just make sure you clean the bit every couple of secs. and reapply moe grease and it catchs all the shavings.Hope this helps ya all out that want to try it.

Heres some more info for you guys doing oil injection. Here is some info and pics off how i mounted the oil bottle. What worked best for me was a bottle off a 1995 xlt.I paid 10.00 for it a used parts place.I went and got myself a strip of aluminum and made the brackets out of that. For the lower one i went from one of the brake caliper bolts up and over the hose and then down to the jackshaft guard. It looks factory and works great and took about 15 mins. to fadricate. For the top i used the same meterial and just put a 90 degree bend in it and mounted it to the frame On the lower bracket on the jackshaft side there is a large hole i used.Simplly get your self a fender washer for the other side and your done.Theres no room to drill on that side so using that big hole works great. The only thing you have to remove is the brake duct which the new RRs dont come with anyway.Youve got plenty of room for your hoses and it looks factory...Hope this helps you guys....Kevin PS by the way...that big hole in the lower bracket is for nipple on the bottom of the oil bottle

Nice mount of the oil bottle, I might have to change mine over. I have use the 2qt plastic bottle, mounting it above the brakes.

Thanks for the info concerning the PTO oil injector.

Guys i left one thing out to tell you guys and its very importent...make sure you check your starter rope after your install of the bottle. The rope wears on the side of the bottle and after a VERY short time(10-20 pulls) it will wear right into the bottle and wreck it.I took some thin sheet metal and formed it nicly on the side of the bottle then tape the hole side with heat tape.Worked great and lasts for ever.......Kevin

I measured the brackets i made and heres the dimensions. From the caliper bolt to the top its 4 1/8". Across the top is 6 1/2" and from the top to the jackshaft guard is 6 3/4".The top bracket is a simple "L" bracket. It measures 4" by 1 1/4". Hope this helps....Kevin
