Does anyone know if the new '08 Race Sleds can be registered as a Trail Sled or is their some "closed-course only" restriction?

Also, can this new motor survive on premium pump gas (what's the min. octane rating?) or will you have to get a low-comp head. Lastly, will the 600 HO oil pump bolt right up?

I've never had any problems registering race sleds. For me in Wi the DNR just wants money....they don't care if its a race sled or not.

Ya, I think the only people that care if its a race sled or not is the insurrance people. Otherwise I've never had a problem either cuz like it was already said, the DNR just wants their money in WI and everywhere else I'm sure.

I know it hasn't been a problem in the past...I registered and insured my '05 IQ with no problems. I was just wondering if now that the EPA is cracking down so hard if things were changing for '08.

the new sleds run on 92... so wouldnt it already have a low comp head?

The insurance people don't even care. They asked for displacement, and VIN, the rate on my 06 IQR is less than my 03 700 PRo X and a dollar or two higher than an 02 550 fan my daughter rides.

they will register it np, and yes it will run on premium pump gas. the new racers were supposedly built to pass epa regs as well.
