Now that you've seen the new snopro:
http://www.arcticchat.com/forums/index.php...64067&st=60How bad are you wishing for a new chassis? Is the promise of a new chassis swaying your decision to buy?? It will be interesting to see what the poll results will be....

BAD VERY BAD!! i want one
barry
I do NOT have a firecat or a twin spar. I have been waiting for years for cat to make a sled I like. The new '08 Sno Pro 600 is that sled. The only grip I have is the lack of Oil Injection.
To ARCTIC CAT- Just add OI, make it EPA Compliant, and watch the folks out there come in to your dealers if you make this a consumer model. It what we want.

I have an 04 f6 and personally.... I'd like to say that.......I LOATHE the twin spar chassis with a passion!!!!! I don't know what the hell cat was thinking getting rid of the f-series chassis and going with the gay a$$ twin-spar. It's so dam heavy and ugly, they better get something new or when I upgrade it's to a crossfire or another brand because right now, I can't stand the Cat line, ridiculous. JMO

But I do like the way Cat is going with the new race sled, maybe something good will come out of it, it's pretty radical I think.
I don't have many issues with the F-series, but the rear tunnel storage/plastic bugs me. The first thing Cat has to do is make the F-series rear tunnel like the SnoPro or Crossfires and make some accessory tunnel/storage bags available in different sizes.

I own a 03 firecat and i am not selling any time soon. Why cant they make the sno pro more like the racer (less plastic more suspension reverse optional lighter weight) leave the standard and the Lxr the way they are with the option of fox shocks on spring order? I dont hate the twin spar but give us some choices.

Im waiting, the 03 and 04 F7's wife and I have will have to be fine untill I can get a sled likethe new SP. I know a few guys who are getting them to race and it may have to be next falls project, "the conversion" I cant wait to try one. The new tein spars are nice but not what I wanted or expected from cat, I have to admit they are growing on me. Anyone think that the new Sno-Pro will actually be the new Crossfire Chassis? Just a thought because the crossfire is kind of behind the the times with the other guys now, and I dont see cat bailing on the new f-cat chassis in less than 4-5 years so..... Would make a icked crossover sled, kinda already is. Anyway, good poll

I just bought a 08 F-series Sno pro and just little bummed about the Sno Pro coming out but think positive also I was thinking to myself, that I would be little happier with F-series because of the features it has like adjustable handlebar and seat and also I am sure it will be little more comfortable than the Sno Pro racer. I am just more of trail cruiser so I am okay with that

I know it might weight a quite bit more but that's okay I like to have something very durable and rigid!
Good Luck to racers that picked up the new racer!! Can't wait to check them out!
Take care,

While I am certainly interested in the new Sno Pro design, the cost associated with that new chassis would be a major concern for me. We can all scream about how we'd buy this or that if it was a production sled, but if it winds up costing $10k for a 600 cc sled, chances of selling big numbers is slip. While there's no denying that all the new technology is great, in an era of shrinking sled sales which are about to be compounded by a slipping economy, the reality is that price is going to be the biggest factor in most people's buying decisions. Hopefully this chassis was designed with production costs in mind, otherwise we won't be seeing very much of it.

The new crossfire / m-series sled will not be a Sno-Pro or a twin spar, IMO. It will be an all-new design of it's own.
The f-series will fade into more of a Sno-Pro type sled but it will take a few more years to move to that. The twin spar is too new, too good to throw away.

Just bought two new M8s and will buy the new chassis in a few years after it's been tested to death on the mountains.

I disagree. I think the F-series sleds will stay as they are. I think they were more intended for trail cruising anyway. I think the snopro will likely hit the hands of consumers, and I think it is sooner than people think. I mean the dang thing has headlights on it for crying out loud, that's not necessary for a race sled.
I think a variation of this will probably end up on the crossfire/M sleds first though.
I wonder what it would be like that that 1100 twin Jaguar 4 stroke in it?

Exactly....look at the Polaris 600RR....it's a 10,000 600cc sled.

Twin spar will be the touring / trail / work sleds (think sabercat, pantera, bearcat)
Sno pro chassis will be the new hig performance sleds (think firecats)
A stretched sno pro for the mountains and crossovers (Crossfire and M's)
ZR5 chassis will die off.
Unless cat did very little R&D on the twin spar, it will remain in the lineup as long as the ZR5 has. It might be heavy but its a smooth rider.

If Cat gets rid of the ugly headlights on the twin spar I'd be more interested. If they ever put that rumored turbo in their new four stroke I might even look at that. I don't like the idea of Cat moving to a front suspension that uses a tie rod end on top of the spindle but they must be cheaper to produce that way. The new chassis will work in to the high performance segment within a year or two. The twin spar will stay around as a real nice trail cruiser -- just my thoughts on it anyway.

i dont think it will be for sale anytime soon,,, mabey 2010 but really cat is in the selling game,, and want to sell thousands of them,, and if i recall the zrt 600 was the best selling sled for cat,,, not the 440 zr,,, So i bet the f body sled will stay around for another year or two..

Unless they come out with a turbo version of the Jaguar I will be sticking with the 03 untill the next great sled comes out.
I have learned over time that you should not buy a first year sled until it has been on the snow for at least a year and then you can get it at a reasonable price.

Absolutely not. The F-Series as it is will be around for many more years.
Think Crossfire.
Think M-Series.
That's where the Sno Pro chassis is going...

I believe the headlights are for the cross country racing. I think the sno pro will make it consumers on some level but i dont think the headlights are the give away.

with the slipping economy the price of everything will go up.....then making a 10,000 dollar 600cc sled very fisable.....
i mean think about it......the less that our dollar is worth.....the more dollars were going to to need to give up to get the same thing.
