Full Version: Track direction?!??

I just got my new track installed at my local Ac dealer and it appears they installed it backwards.... the angle of the lugs is completely backwards from the challenger tracks that are installed on the M series sleds they have on the showroom floor. i inquired the mechanic that installed the track why he installed it the way he did, his reply "you have better stopping capability with the track installed the way it is. tracks are reversable, one direction is for mountain/hillclimbing while the other way is for powder/offtrail riding" i shrugged and walked away, after sleeping on it, it is really starting to bother me..... notice the arrow pointing opposite of the direction of rotation.

so i'm here asking some of the subject matter experts what they think.

is my track jacked up?

i told the dealer i'll try it out, if i don't like it they said they would flip it around no charge.

Well if his reasons are valid the dealer should have at least given you the options and asked you if you wanted to have it done like that.

Yeah it looks like its on backwards. The arrows should point the way it rotates. I dont think you are suppose to run teh challenger backwards. I woudl take it back and have him fix it if he is close. If not do it yourself and call him and ask for soem money back. Its pretty easy to do.

Yes, it is on backwards. Have them put it on right before moving that sled an inch.

yeah i have no idea what they were thinking. i wasn't sure if it was reversible or what so i just rolled with it. looks like i'll be taking it back sometime this week. thanks for the replies.
