I have a 2001 mxz-x 800 i only get 7500 RPM at wide open throttle! i am wondering if this is the normal RPM for this machine? i also only get 95-100 miles on a full tank of gas! any of you who owns or have owned one please give me some tips....It feels like this 800 is not giving its full top end! The sled has 3500 miles on it, runs great very quick up to 70 mph but i think this sled has alot of potential i just need some tips!!! thank you!

You need to have 7850 for the sweet spot on that sled. The tachs can be out about 200 rpm high, so shoot for 8000 on the tach. First thing make sure there is a new belt and see what # the clicker is on the primary clutch. Don't expect major top speed on this sled without a gear change and clutch kit. They are a missle to the C-note but die off after that. Also, get yourself a temp gauge, and only race when it's between 1/4 and 1/2, let it cool down if it gets above or you will be passed by smaller cc sleds.
