anybody install the true 4" air intake on their crossfire. If so how does that 3" inlet come out and how difficult is it.

If you are talking about the air intake silencer, it can be a bear. It has to be turned past some catches and then pulled out. I can not remember which way to turn it though...

So where can a guy get one of these 4" plastic ones, besides eBay. I have seen the aluminum ones but I want it to look like stock.

You can get one for like $8 from your Arctic Cat dealer. Get the Intake Air Silencer from the 2002 Sno Pro. The ones on EBay are these, but cut down. There is a post on here referencing this. Search "high flow intake".

Unless your having problems with .ingestion like on the firecats beaks w/them pluging up. Which shouldn't be your case if you have a x-fire, I wouldn't suggest doing this mod. Its been dyno proven that the 4" intakes actually slow down velocity of air and do not help or add any hp, and in most cases loose hp. Unless your running a big bore sled this isn't going to help you, and more than likely will give you problems.
I put one on a firecat last year and didn't notice a difference other than it helped when I got alot of snow up underneath the beak.
