Yup a few of our signs installed in the last 2 weeks,Stop signs and Stop ahead have been stolen

This is going to be such a fun season

Bunch of ignorant ^#*&*$ suckers

You would think they would not mind having Stop signs, but nope

I hope someone gets killed and they than find out who stole the signs and they get put away for a long time

This will be the only way to stop them IMO

Also we will be taking an excator and doing 2km of trails and expect 4x4 truck and quads to wreck the shit out of the base before the snow hit or IMO by next week

Sad thing is we can NOT do a thing

I don't really mean that,of course I would not want someone to die

but you get the point

they are fucking with peoples safety when you remove a stop sign

then I become liable as a club director

I should just quit,as this is how I feel

They then get a chain and pull it away or just cut trees to go around

Like I said they do not give a damn it is there god damn right to use that trail mentality

We have used large concrete blocks in the past and other methods

But Like I also say it is only the minority causing the problem and will fuck it for everyone

Have some of the locals play sniper. A high-powered rifle could stop a truck engine in a hurry. Make sure your/thier aim is true and an escape plan is in order to get away undetected.

Where there is no law, there is still vigilante law.

This is a real problem for lots of snowmobile clubs. Where I ride we have the benefit of OFSC /OfATV trails . Our Sled/ATV club shares trails/work togethor and it seems to be working very well . Of course we still find trespassers but generally they are minus a permit but on the right trail at least .It can work if everyone is on the same page as far as respecting the trails and that is what it really comes down too. If all else fails and trespassing still occurs I wonder what something like This could do for collecting illegal activity.

I hope that some time in the not so distant future everyone would be able to co-exist and respect and enjoy eachothers respective past times.

Yes I agree they need to organize and get LUPs

BUT 90% of our trails are on PRIVATE PROPERTY where as the big minning companies will not allow quads or whatever on their property yet turn a blind eye also

We are a SNOWMOBILE club we have NO control over OFF SEASON users

And IMO only I could give a rats ass if they use the trails under a couple of reasonable conditions

a- repair and respect the trail when using it

b-stay off during winter and respect we have a LUP aka permissiomnm form the said landowner to use the trails during the winter months

It is the assholes that mud bogg and do not repair,if you mud bog and go back and repair the section once or twice a yr it would go a long way for all users

Also the morons that remove trail signs to prove their petty little point, that have the right to use the trail whenever wherever they want

Sad thing these are not teens doing this crap many are older 20-40yrsold +

It is pretty pathetic that they have yet to get organize here or IMO they are realizing nobody gives a fuck and will use the trails anyway

If I get a quad in the future I would love to be part of a quad club that helps out on trails

At our last meeting I brought up the fact we have to realize they are here to stay but a couple of members still have the thought that they are not allowed on the trails

Which is true but if we do not bridge the gap it will only get worse until we accept they are here for good BUT they have to accept they need to be organized or both sports will become renegade

You what really chaps my ass, is going to a party or BBQ and seeing trail signs up on someones garage or basement wall ............. I always ask were they got them, and it's all ways the same old answers ........ "got from a friend " .. "got em at a garage sale" .. they were here when I bought the place.

I love it if we could tempratur sensitive dye pack them to explode once they get warmed up, wouldn't that be the cats ass to see two asshats in a pick up get out at the 7-11 looking like Blue Man Group, or to have some guy's basement sprayed in blue dye ... wife, kids, pets and all clap.gif

and that trail is on the verge of being closed

most of it is on Laurentain CONSERVATION land

But like I said this is the mentality " sleds use so why can't trucks/quads"

ANSWER

Clubs got PERMISSION from the Conservation group to have a trail go across the eastern section of the conservation area

they are not only fucking themselves but they are fucking everyone

sad thing many are sledders themselves

What about putting camera's up and taping them in the act. Surely the police can't turn away if you have them on video.

If all else fails, put the concrete block inside a fence with some pit bulls.

All we what we would like is other users to show a little respect when using the trails

O.K. you don't like my first suggestion. A little over the top I'll admit.

How about laying down some spike strips in the ruts they have made, then cover them over with some mud. Sooner or later they will grow tired of replacing blown out tires and find a more suitable place to ride. It would be kinda like a mouse trap, you will need to check frequently and reset the strips. All you need is some scrap metal, a grinder and a welder to make your strips.

what the fuck are those things!?!?!? LOL

on bold - there is some good technology out there now....would probably cost your club a few hundred bucks to install some remote camera equipment. Direct them to where you want them and they only take photos when the motion sensor is tripped. The photos can be sent straight to your email instantly....

a buddy at work has one set up at his camp. Seems the locals from the reserve got a taste for the liquor in his cabinets so he set up some cameras....problem was solved within 2 months.

Everyone in the world saw that post last year that I made, it had the kids face, his g/f (??), his lic. plate and worst of all the fakin "Trail closed" sign in the backround...

Absolutly fak-nothing. The worst it got was jokes about his girlfriend / sister / cousin (pick 2) grinning-smiley-023.gif

The cops didn't even put down their donuts, and go tell the guy he was driving like a douche bag.

So, just give it up already people, the cops won't do shit, and no one's gonna listen to you, as for the spike belts, haha, well, stop and think about that for a second... The cops PATROL those trails in the summer, I think Officer Smitch wouldn't be too please if he figures out some dude has layed spike belts all over the trails, then went online to brag about it ?!?!?

hahaha.

I need a beer! and it's only 9AM!!

Ya spike belts. Those Heep guys will realize the sledders ruined a set of their tires and weel be running over spike belts this winter and tearing up tracks....
roscoracing68
You guys are hard to please. You wanna bitch, but don't seem to wanna do anything about it.

Last suggestion!

Have as many club members waiting for a phone call, have their bats and chains ready. Keep someone on the lookout for the trespassers to enter the trails. After they are in block the entrances with heavy equipment or transport trucks. Then when everyone you can get ahold of arrives make your way in and beat them and their trucks beyond recognition.

Before you do this post that trespassers will be dealt with brutally and severely and that they will be trespassing at their own risk. Unlawful entrance will be giving consent that they are willing to accept the consequences and they will be forfeiting any legal recourse.

They want a war, give them one. Chances are their a bunch of punk kids who won't come back after the first confrontation.

Wear disguises, hoods similar to kkk would be a good idea.

Otherwise just accept that you will be constantly fixing your trails and they will constantly be tearing them up again.

In our area they are not kids. They are Jeep groups of people aged 20-50's who know better but just dont give a shit what they destroy as long as they can roost mud.

They aren't punk kids, and it's not like you can't find out where they're going a week in advance. If you really want to do something, go talk to them at timmies in the south end on thursday nights. They usually meet up there. Forum posting won't change where or how they play.

Time to take action, demand that your STOP and local Police do something about it ASAP. Ammo up, print a crap load of stuff off their website as proof of past act's, get letters from land owners and sledders and clubs. Provide them with good tangible evidence and enough complaints there really is a problem, and they'll have to do something about it. Also try some news paper ad's with pic's, let the greenies know what's going on and get them on your side.

The police can't turn a blind eye to trespassing, theft of signs, destruction of property, for ever, educate as many people in and outside of sledding on what these renegade 4 wheelers are doing, and you'll see public support that will pressure the police into taking action.

You could even start with printing this post and hand delivering it to the chief of police, it shows real well how arrogant these pricks are towards abiding by the law and the police themselves..........

Our club was out today doing trail work. Ten Guys putting up fence removing two tandem loads of other peoples refuse ( large tires etc.) We had the generosity of Garson pipe owner John's heavy equipment on our trails two weeks in a row now. The fact is, with a little orginization, these guys could get it together instead of leaving it to the snowmobile clubs to repair the damage done. I see nothing wrong with multi use on the trails as long as LUP's are signed by private landowners and maint. is helped with. This as we all know takes alot of work. Life is always easier when someone else does the work. Just today about $2000.00 worth of equipment and labour was put forth by members of our club mostly by one man, those that bitch about permit prices and trail conditions that are not out there are also a cause for concern, for if this trail system is to continue, we must all put forth at least some effort more than just buying a trail pass. m2c.gif

Just for the record the section by Moonlight is on BDSA trails. It iis posted as closed but that does not matter to these guys. I was out last weekend and got pictures of the jeep stuck and forwarded them on to our administrator for action (had a good shot of the people and licence plates) They were not happy with me taking pictures. This is a section of trail I used to be responsible for. Note the words used to be as this section is now closed due to LUP being revoked for guess what. We will now be going back a few hundred feet and cutting toward Moonlght (more work for me in the next couple of weeks as if I haven't got enough already
For the signs FB - have your SP board member bring it up at the next STP meeting and maybe we can get Crime Stoppers invloved. These guys usually like to brag and maybe we can find out who they are and get them charged
Lastly Nutter I think your idea of post and click is a great one and I will be bringing it up at the District and STP meetings Great idea and only takes a second.
