Hi, my buddy has a 1998 SX 700 triple that he converted to a mountain sled. He has a Yamaha Guru that has done alot to the motor. 25+ more horse than stock. He added a new 141 x 2" paddle track (used 2 weeks) with 2003 Mtn Viper skid. Mtn skis, took alot of things off to lighten it up. He is asking $2000 because that is what he has in it to get it to Mtn condition. Just wondering for you experienced Mtn riders, is this a good deal?? He takes care of his sled to the extreme. I am real interested in it because I am going with him to Cook City, Montana in March. Just looking for some advice on it.

thanks.

Oh yeh, it also has triple pipes on it with a lightweight canister too.

The price may be about $200 high IMO, but if he knows the sled from top to bottom, he can help you tune it when needed, plus he's a friend so you know he'd tell you if there was anything wrong with the sled. Those two things make it worth the little extra money compared to buying it from some guy that you don't even know. I would buy it if I was you.

Oh yeh, I can trust him totally. He would never screw me. I know the sled well too because I ride with him alot. He wants me to go Mtn riding cuz I am the only buddy that has the same guts to ride like he does. Others he goes with are chicken sh!t. LOL

It has a little crack in the hood from flippin it out in Cook City but to be expected. He has the hood setup now with quick connect for rpm, lights so it don't rip the wires out. LIke I said, he takes it to a yammy guru that has totally redone the engine, told what pipes to put one, clutching, etc. He has fim totally go thru it in spring and then in fall for riding. He would definitely help me tune it if needed or ask his Guru buddy what to do. I 100% know for sure it is a solid sled up and down. He just had all 3 carbs taken off and gone thru. The thing just flies.......

He told me he has over $2 Genos in it but will let it go to me for 2.

It is ready to put gas in and pull start and fly!

Thanks for your input??? Any other suggestions.
