I purchased the Arctic Cat ACT drive oil yesterday. The dealer had a 12oz bottle that stated it was for the reverse model. I figure the oil is the same in the reverse and non-reverse but the reverse comes in the bigger bottle?
Can someone please verify this?
Thank you

Same oil, one comes in a larger quantity due to a bigger case to acomodate the reversing system.

Thanks for the response GuyFromTheNorth!
Also, I would like to say that I really appreciate the time you put into the technical 'how to's' you have posted. I just purchased a xfire 600SP and find the information very useful.
Hopefully as I test this winter i can contribute some more useful info.

Not a problem, glad I could help out. I always find service manuals are a far cry from being helpful on the little tricks to doing any job so normally I make big writeups and try and get them online for others. I get my secondary screws in tomorrow and then I'm going for a ride grin.png

i believe a guy on snowest had some CAT DD oil analyzed to see what it is forsure... nothing more than hydraulic oil.

i know i just used a good quality hydraulic oil in my '05 f7 DD for 2500+ miles things were mint shape. someone with no access to this stuff is just better off buying the stuff Cat sells. for often you have to change it is not worth buying anything else. i used it cause it was free.

Anyone else have experience with trying other fluids other than the Arctic Cat DD fluid?

What kind of hydraulic fluid did you use?
