Just started my 05 IQ440 to a Carl's 660 conversion and have been reading all your Posts. Big thanks to Matts4888 and AkIQpilot, you both saved me a lot of time ad head scratching with your post. I would like to run a single pipe for it's ease in tuning and have seen the 440 pipe mod on this forum. My question is: Will the modded 440 pipe have enough expansion for my 660 at sea level? Is there a company out there that makes a 600ves swap pipe or a pipe that gets close that has a larger expansion chamber? Does the IQ600 RMK pipe come close? (i am a welding hack that doesn't mind butchering in the name of performance) Thanks, Craig

the 440 pipe mod is by far the cheapest, akiqpilot says they work well. neils power pipes is about the only one im aware of thats actually making them that are available right away. SLP has one in the works but not ready until late in the season, however it will be ALOT cheaper than neils. or you could try getting a 600 RR pipe from the consumer sled for this year but im sure that will be tough as well.
i would think mod the pipe for now until there is a better selection and prices fall some.

Not true, Carl's cycle sells a 600/660 single pipe for the iq race chassis, my buddy justin just bought one. it's on their site for 579 I believe

Cuz they don't make one! Not for the racers, they will carry the slp rr pipe when it comes in. I have talked to chris many times, he said either use the rmk pipe (one cut) or neils power pipes for my 660 kit i just bought! There is one other outfit i found to be making them, refuse to lose racing or something like that!

oh when you click on the 660 it says they make it for edge chassis sleds, and iq. Is it for the racer or the trail iq though?

These guys
may
have a pipe that fits your application:
http://r2lracestuff.com/exhaustsystems.htmHope it helps...I'm not sure who the manufacturer is.
Jeff
P.S. Let us know how the conversion goes...I was contemplating the same thing but Carl's website says the kit is now out of stock.

Carls kit needs to be ordered months in advance! They only can make so many kits a week and most of names on them!
Yes, those are the guys with the pipe, i beleive they make the pipe themselves, i haven't spoken to them personally!

Zippi.
Carl's pipe is for the consumer IQ not the race-sled
The pipe is the same as SLP uses for the 600 H.O, it is not moded. It's straight up 600 H.O pipe from SLP.
Dynoport have a single for 600-685. Haven't heard anyone testing it though.
Niels should be the best available at the moment for your 660.

I think I'm going or give Refus2loose a call because my 440 pipe mod looks like CRAP. Thanks for all the info. Craig

Good Find Frog.
That pipe looks pretty good. 800 Clams is a little steep but you got to pay to play.
One thing about the pipe/can in the picture. That one is for a '07 or earlier chassis. Kinda expected since the '08 chassis hasn't been around but for a few weeks.
And one more thing. The modded 440 pipes I have installed aren't giving up 29HP. They are giving up some for sure but not 29. If that were the case there would be no way for these converted 600's to even keep up with a well tuned 440 since they would be making less than 100 HP. Be careful with HP Claims. I think these guys are legit for sure but the 29HP claim is suspect.
At least there is another option out there now.

I would imagine there price should be coming down soon! Once SLP's hits the market!

I just got off of DynoPorts web site there is $499.99 plus $299.00 for the can in you want ceramic finish. Where SLP's is going to be $529.99 for both. Isn't Neil's Pipe and silencer like $1000.00?
Does anyone have info on how you hack the RMK pipe?

It states in the write-up on the Refuze2Looz website that "This pipe has been specifically built for Refuze 2 Looz Racing by one of the premier pipe builders in the country". No telling who the pipe builder is but if it performs like it looks, it might be worth the $$$.

i got the $800 ceramic stuff...if you want to know what it looks like click the link the r2l on the first page...its totally 100% identical...other than the dyno port stamp welded on it. I know rick very well since i live to close and he told me it would wake this motor right up...i should notice a huge dif from the 440 pipe mod to this pipe. I'll let everyone know how it works when i can.

hey guys, i was wondering if any of you guys have contacted DMAX for a hand made pipe or twins for the racer. i live within km's of him and last year he built a single pipe and stinger for my buddies 600 ves engine in his racer ($350-450) and built me a set of twins with stingers for my racer with a 600 ho for $1000. the pipes weren't ceramic coated but i'm sure you could get them coated if you wanted. overall the pipes are a very nice piece.

Znatch, just wondering where you got the $875 figure. I've heard of guys spending close to $1200 for a Neils pipe. I got mine second hand for $700, plus $85 for ceramic coating that I had done. I personally haven't talked to Neil, but to have a hand made pipe for $875, that will work for a 600, 660, or a 685, that to me is pretty much a no brainer. JMO So I guess that the refuse to lose pipe is made by Dyno Port??

Just got an Email from Jim at SLP and he said if you order now, it would be "mid to late December" before they filled that order. Dang, I wish I was more patients, but what's $300 if you get first tracks? Thanks, Craig

I sent Neils Power Pipes an email questioning what he wanted for a pipe to my 660-engine. Got an answer that it was 875. Sen't him another email to order it but he is really bad at responding emails so i'll call him next week to make sure he get's it fabbed up for me :-)

Above someone was talking about DMAX pipes. They have only made twins (not single)for the 600 in the IQ chassis. They want $1000.00 for a set of twins. Not quite $350-400

. Oh, and they wouldn't be able to make a set until Feb.
I see that Neils Power Pipes web site is finally back up. One thing about his pipes is they sure do look trick! Anyone know how long it takes to get a pipe from him??
What about AAEN? I thought I remember someone saying they would make a pipe for you on site for around $500.00?
I am just a little hesitant on DynoPort. I have found in the past that there pipes just don't perform like other brands. Alot of that stems from Motocross Racing. Not that they are bad, but bang for the buck I always felt I could get something better.

I bought it from a guy on SnoWest, post a WTB and see what pops up. Just to clear things up this is a pipe from an '08 600r not rr.

Ya, I talked to them at HayDays. I didn't talk prices (like a dumb ass). But they said you get there in the morning they will have you on the road early afternoon with a custom made dynoed pipe. Kinda crazy you ask me. But I don't build pipes either!
