Can anyone give me dates & locations of Groomer Operator Safety courses coming up? Hopefully there is one in the Southern area of NY. Also, a topic was started a few weeks ago about clubs paying Groomer operators, not including Old Forge, as that is a different case. A few responses came in, all stating NO. I agree with this, but our club has a few members who think their time is worth more than everyone else's and expect payment. I myself am a volunteer operator and do it for the enjoyment of making a difference & for the good of the club. If i am wrong please tell me so, however if i'm right let me know as well. Doing a snow dance as we speak. Thanks.

Check the NYSSA site for Groomer seminars. You are not wrong-if people want a paying job, they should go get one. The club's can't afford all the infrastructure that comes with having employees. I don't know of anywhere bnesides Old Forge in New York where groomer operators are paid.

Gary, thereis a business/club in Lewis Co that pays their groomer drivers...but they do it for reasons other than why us volunteers do it. They are making money off that investment.
On this same subject,I now hear that one of these business/clubs in Lewis Co, is now quitting the snowmobile club business altogether...and they were the ones tht got the whole issue in Lewis Co. going and now the are dropping out. I guess we can now see their motives for all the commotion?? MONEY$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
