I'am looking for cylinder specs. for a 1994 Elan single cylinder 250.The machine shop says in order to properly bore it out that they need to know the proper clearance for inbetween the piston and cylinder wall.I know the bore is 69.5mm.Couldn't I just get him to measure the old piston and then he could take the difference away from the bore and he would have the proper clearance for the new .20 over spi pistion?
You'd really rather have the new piston to measure then use the tolerance specs to bore..
