No more CAT dealer in the "SNOWMOBILE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD"
Here's the OBITUARY
http://arcticcat.tracksideinc.com/home_arcticcat.asp
old cat man
wow, I heard the new rep up there is kind of pain. I wonder if he pissed them off like he did to Gary at K Sports? Too bad for Cat, maybe Heckels will pick them up.

This is what happens when cat forces dealers to take orders thy cant sell...pretty sad.

We had two guys in our group with cash in hand that were ready to buy a couple of leftover sleds. Track Side basically wanted original list price. WTF? Over?

Last March they still had new Doo and Arctic Cat sleds from 2002 and up. Any dealer worth a shit in the snowmobile captial of the world shouldn't have 5 year old left over sleds....

It's their own damn fault. Track Side did and still does suck.

Cats are already on the floor at Heckels.

I have never been to Trackside but the fact that they have leftovers is not their fault. Cat ships sleds from dealers that have gone out of business to different dealers so they can get rid of them.

We usually stop by there and Heckels every year...I ride Cat, a couple of my buddies ride Yamaha. I've always been more impressed by Heckels service than Trackside. Maybe they're getting what they deserve.

One of the reasons I rode Arctic Cat is they had the most dealers in the areas I lived and rode so parts were available if I had the need. The season is too short to lose a day or a weekend because the nearest parts are 100 miles away or not open on weekends.

I never bought a sled from them but I agree Trackside was not the best dealer experience for parts. I got the feeling because they had a dealer ship in Eagle River and had a few high dollar customers that threw money around but knew very little about the sleds that all their customers were like this. Of course I remember the Sunday morning I stopped in for parts and there were at least 4-5 customers demanding new belts for their EXTREMELY low mileage sleds. I had to laugh and feel for the service guys on this one. On the other hand Arctic Cat seems to be on a push to close down dealers and seems to look at dealers as if they should be lucky to have the Cat line instead of the other way around. I seen the same thing with John Deere to a certain degree when Deere pushed support costs out to the dealers and gave some bean counter a big bonus for all the money they saved. Agree this location is strategic and CAT should be doing everything they can to keep a dealer in this market even if they lose money doing it.

after buying sleds from private owners and paying thousands less then if the particular sled
was at a dealer, I wouldn't buy brand new or used anything except oil and gear
from dealers.

you know I have my sled in one of spotsmans sheds
and over the years I have cracked up a couple.
but one thing about sportsmans that always
pissed me off is that the littlest accident on your sled
even though you willing to pay the cash to fix it
they somehow find there way in 2 of my occasions
to say that its totalled. they don't like to have anything to
do with a cracked up sled. example fart the wrong way
on it they will tell you its 2 f'n grand.

that has happened with all the brands, that is why i can't get parts for my Mach without driving 120 miles.

Let me just state that anyone that needs to try to cut down a dealer on these forums probably is not needed in these forums. This is an great place to find information about a sport that we all love. Yes we did drop Arctic Cat. So have many other dealers. This has nothing to with the quality of the dealership. It has to do with poor business practices by Arctic Cat that have left MANY dealers with no choice but to end that relationship. Those that understand how it works thanks for speaking up.

Support the sport and wish for a great snowmobile season!!!

Sorry you missed my point - I have been to Track Side many times either to buy a sled because we were tired of fixing the old one or to get parts to keep the weekend going. Each time my group and I were treated like we had an infectious disease.

With cash in hand that's now how to treat customers. That is one reason why Track Side didn't move sleds. Don't give me the excuse it was the manufacturer's fault. Going to blame not having any snow next? Yes, it's all mother nature's fault. Oh and it must be Al Gore's fault too. Certainly not anyone at Track Side.

It is my right to speak my opinion of Track Side. Don't like it? Perhaps Track Side should try harder to earn and keep my business next time.

Take responsibility and make a conscious change in how you do business.

BTW, I'm far from ignorant.

Let me just start by saying no need for a pissing match. However you can stand on the outside and be a sideline coach for as long as you would like. The fact is you do not know the scenario each and every dealer must endure to stay in business. This is true with any business. If the attitude is so lousy you can ask our many loyal and happy customers what kind of experiences they have had at TrackSide and other places for that matter. District dealer of the year awards on an annual basis means you must be doing something correct. Sorry you had a bad experience... Never an intention to create business through rude and selfless behavior...

Yes maybe next time we can be of assistance. Always willing to help a fellow snowmobiler. At time we can be busy, please be patient!!!

Hope that everyone has a great snowmobile season and I apologize for wasting your time on this subject...
