On the registration slip that you mail back to DMV, Why does it have " County Use" ???

They have mine down as Erie, i wonder if i can change it to Wyoming...?

Yes you can change it. They just want you to pick which county you will "probably" use your sled the most. I would just leave it and not worry about it.

The county use thing was a purposed tax thing they were going to do if I remember correctly. Just like on vehicles.

I think the state uses that information to allocate groomer funding. Be truthful about it.

No, they don't use it for groomer/grant funds-that's calculated and paid per mile by Parks. I believe that is just for use of categorizing how many registrations per county-they use this data for information purposes.

Gary is right. I just checked with the wife sledchick1 who works at the DMV and it is for data only. If you want to change it just go to your local DMV when you register. Sledchick1 also says don't mail in your registration but go to your local DMV and either drop in a drop off box (if they have one) and they will mail it back to you or stop in during business hours. This keeps some of the money from the states' cut in your county instead of giving it all to the state by mail.

Sledshed....i mailed mine in,,,it goes to the local DMV office on George Urban in Cheektowaga,,,,if i was to go to the DMV office personally,,that's the one i would have to go to.

I just stuck a post it note on the renewal saying that my county of use is Wyoming, not Erie. I’ll see what happens…not a big deal.
