I am thinking about bringing down one of my sleds to ride down here. I live in nappanee and was wondering if there are any trials close by? Also do the people in the area complain about noise?

There is a lot of trails in the South Bend area. I'm not sure how to add a link but the web site is michianatrailriderscoalition.com These are commonly called the Buffalo run trails. There are also trails in the Niles, Michigan area, if you have a trailer. These are groomed by the Four flags snowmobile club. The South Bend trails are groomed by the MTRC. Not sure how the area feels about the noise...

You've got two trails close by. One in Goshen/Elkhart, you can park at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds and leave from there. The other is on the west side of South Bend. You can park at the south Bend speedway and leave from there. The south bend trail connects to a trail in michigan and you can ride all the way to New Buffalo.

I work in Nappanee and live on the trail in South Bend. So coming up for a ride shouldn't take too long for ya.

Hey reddragon229 I live right over by Wheeler (across the field from the portage Wal-Mart) and we get plenty of ditch ridin in around here also. Have only had complaints from one particular famer, cant really blame him though, some Aholes tore the hell out one of his wheat fields with 2" of snow on it about 5 years ago. We lose alittle more of our "trail system" evey year do to development but theres still plenty left.

Plenty of snow in the lower pen. I ride there almost every other weekend once the snow hits. I have a great friend that lives in Porter he rides Polaris to. If you ever need any info about going up North let me know. La Porte also has a pretty good underground trail system.

I would like to know more about this underground trail system. Can you post a map?
