Damn, you guys don't mess around when ya do dirt-work! Lemme guess, 650 sized Dozer? Only a dozer gets a trail that smooth and graded..

Please post these pics in the trail work pictures thread in the general sled forum!!

Jay it's a road allowance so it's open to anyone, the township should of done the reroute, but we all know how that goes "hurry up and wait" so we took matters into our own hands ............... git er done laundry.gif

I saw on CHEX either early this year or last year that the owner of the area surrounding Baldy & the 3rd Hole (east of Burketon north of the tracks) has donated the property to the township for a conservation area. Will this affect the trails in any way? I don't think there are any OFSC trails thru there. Or does the trail south from Nesleton Station run thru it before it connects w/ E108?

Ya Kris some trails do run through there, but we fall under the historical group clause, so it doesn't affect any OFSC or club trails. It's now owned and privately policed (aggressively I might add by Canadian Shield) by KLCA Kawartha Lakes Conservation Authority and is called the Cross Creek Conservation Project. For the time being it's zero access ..... by foot, horseback, bicycle or motorized vehicles, but in winter we still have sled access on the trails running through there.

Anyone one hear that the railbed between Lindsay and Fenelon was closed, put into a walking trail??????????

More so than after the double fatality dirt bike accident? I was warned after that by a co-worker who lived in Burketon to make sure all our paperwork was in order when we took our trucks out on a weekend. Sure enough we met the DRs @ the foot of Baldy as we drove in.

Oh ya a couple Canadian Sheild Hummers are there 24/7 and the DRPShas put it on a higher priority in the patrol line up, including Air One. Test Hill/Baldy is somewhere not to be anymore, it's ZERO tollerance for the time being, but it's been claimed by KLCA as part of their take over agreement that in 2010 or 2011 it's going to be user pay like the Ganny for ORV's, Hiking, horseback ....ect ................... But I'm pretty sure with them now having conservation status on that tract of land it'll never come back to allowing motor vehicle use.

It's a shame those few who had no respect for these types of things had to ruin it for others, it was an awesome place to ride.

Also a good place to dump stolen vehicles. devil.png We found a fairly new Impala back in the 80s @ the south end of Nightmare Alley. Intact except the w/s had been broken & the VIN plate pried off the dash.
