Just picked up a 01 xc sp 800 1kmi. Previous owner installed VES heads on the sled just wondering if anyone else has done this upgrade and if so what did they need to do with the jetting of the carbs or anything else. I think this things got issues do the 800 ves's have normal chatter in them? (Also how do you open the bowls on the flatside carbs???) Im used to older sleds.

I had mine converted. Don't remember what the jetting was.

Stock jetting for the 02 800 VES @ - 10 F to + 10 F 0 to 2000 ft elev is 500. 01 800 non -ves is 460

The valves did chatter and I broke one gullitine off. The conversion was done by a professional. I did like the performance better.

Thanks for letting me know, did everything work out fine with it. I was unsure about the conversion but couldnt pass up the deal with the sled.
