I'm working on a wrecked XLT special (97) w/ the xtra-12 suspension. I have a std xlt (96) that had the xtra-10 suspension.
My question really pertains to the front though. I have a bent lower radius rod on the 97 and it needs to be replaced. Is this the same rod as the 96? If so, great I have it; but if not, I have to go buy one. Both have fox shocks on the front stock.

thanks in advance.

A standard '96 Xlt has a Xtra-12 suspension. The SKS and RMK's had the Xtra-10 though

I'm sure you can see that the trailing arms are different. As for the radius rods I don't know, seems as though if you have them both in your possession you could tell us...

lol, yeah, but instead of tearing into both sleds.... if i don't have to i won't. I figured someone would know off the top of their heads. Mainly, is the xtra-10 rad rod the same as the xtra-12.

Bent or kinked rods? I've straightened many bent radius rods in a vice, spray paint and reinstall. Really though, there are a few different variants of the xtra ifs through those years. A tape measure and a good eye ball will tell you if they will work. Or look them up at polarisind.com, and see if they use the same part #. Most likely the ends are the same, with a slight difference in length, or the angle that the "bushing" end is welded on.
