Hello everyone!

I am going to put an X-tra 12 suspension that I got for dirt cheap into my 2001 700SRX. I was hoping that someone could tell me a few critical distances for mounting purposes.

I would like to know the distance from the center of the drive cog to the first mounting hole and second mounting hole for the tunnel on a polaris sled that uses the X-tra 12 skid. I also need the distance up to the holes from the bottom of the skid. I think that with these dimensions I can put it under my yamme tunnel and get her mounted up so that the weight transfer is good.

I have not been able to locate a late 90's polaris to measure so it would be awesome if someone who has one of these could grab some quick measurements for me (or point me in the right direction online).

thanks!

I can try and get the measurements for you, but I think you are making a BIG mistake putting that into that SRX. To much work for a worse suspension than what you have. I have rode a nicely setup SRX compared to a xtra-12 and I thought the SRX rode better.

Have you ever ridden an x12 sled? You will likely regret this greatly. I would do an edge swap if you are thinking about this.

I was thinking the same thing but didnt want to be the first to say it. LOL The XTRA-12 was a touring/casual rider's suspension. No way would I EVER put that suspension on a sled like the SRX. XTRA-10 or EDGE would have been a much better choice.
I have ridden sleds with XTRA-12 and its a great suspension if you ride slow because it really soaks up the bumps, but once you try to ride fast with it the suspension doesnt perform as well.
If you got the suspension cheap though, its going to be an improvement over stock. Anything is better than that NoAction suspension that the SRXs came with.

To clarify I typically bang a lot of ditches in MI UP. The high speed riding is not really my style.

I was looking into buying a new W arm and fixing the stock suspension, but it is horrible. I think that the xtra 12 will be ok, perhaps even good if I get "Fat man" springs for it.

If someone has these measurements that would be great.

thanks again!
