Hello!
It is time for my first contribution to this forum:)
You see, I have ordered an 07 IQ 440, and I wanted to give it a nice facelift with another hood, engine kit and so on.... And I also wanted to get C&A XT skis for it. But a lot of people I have talked to about this say that these skis are to extreme for the IQ race.
I have understood that it is possible to change some geometry to reduce the pressure on the skis. Does someone know how this is done. Also there are new modifications for the 08 IQ, on the steering. Does this make a noticable difference?
Or are there any people out there who have XT's on their IQ who can confirm that this is just bull?
I know I could get a pair of C&A AD or outlaw or something, but I also want the raw looks from the 7 1/4" skis
If anyone on this great forum would be so kind and help me out I'd be grateful.
Thanks,
Nils fron Sweden, where snow is fallin!
By the way, I'll post a pic of it so that people will check this thread

I ran the XT's on my '05. I'm not a small guy, but you had to rock the sled back and forth to turn the XT's while stopped. I have heard of a few people cutting the keel down, but with all the other brands of skis out there why bother?

XT's are way too aggresive i find. im running C&A ADX and have no problemes with it since installed and i dont have trouble turning either

Outlaws work great as well. No turning issues that I found.

Ok, I see..
So I guess there is no hope huh..
Any other poo rider who has experience from C&A XT's?

I run the XT's on my 07 IQ. Not that bad, if it is a problem why not take the 30 minutes and take a belt sander to the keel? Simple fix and you still get the flotation of the XT's!

Hmm, I think I would try Slydog Powderhounds, you should get just as good of flotation as the XTs, and much easier to steer from what I hear. I had XTs on my ZR chassised fan racer, I loved them there. On the conventional sled with not so much ski pressure they turned awesome. but I wouldnt put them on my IQ, I think that would be way too agressive for me. Then again, I am 5'8 155 lbs, not exactly a big guy.

I used them and didn't have a problem......i moved the front arm in the suspension to change the geometry and it solved everything! Made a huge diggerence..

they'll be tough to find but C&A made a few sets of custom skis awhile ago, 7 and 1/4 wide with just a regular AD keel

I had the outlaws on my 06 w/ a 136", swapped them out with a set of xt's for an afternoon and never looked back. Sled is very responsive and rails corners w'em. Floats incredibly well also. My brother's slydog's take less effort to turn, they're not as aggressive, definately lighter, I'd probably try a set of those next. But if your aggressive and are looking for a ski that will go wherever you point it, you can't go wrong with the XT's. I'm only 5'10, 165-170, arms get pumped up the first day of hard riding every season, but after that they don't bother me. Everyone's different though. Then again my outlaws were black, and the XT's are white (they match my hood screens and windshield), I've definately been able to pull more chicks with the whitey's, so maybe my opinion is skewed. White skis are good for 5-6hp too.

as PH said, a belt sander for the keel may be a good idea

I like how my C+A razors with a 6 inch shaper bars handle. Way easier to turn that stock, at low and higher speeds.

This is the kind of answer I am looking for!
I will PM you about how you did it, if the stock settings will suck, if that's ok!
Man, this forum is way better than any other american forum, for example snowest.
