PLEASE REGISTER YOUR SLEDS BY DECEMBER 1ST IF YOU PLAN TO RIDE IN NEW YORK THIS YEAR

Most of you folks know about the trail fund and how it works, but for those that don't:

All trail grant funds are generated solely by registration dollars. Out of your registration dollar, $10 goes to DMV for processing, the rest goes to the Trail Fund. NYS Office of Parks is responsible for setting the grant per mile amount based on registrations received by December 1st. Last year they delayed until the 31st because registrations were coming in so slow. As of the 31st, there were 67K registrations state wide. Parks estimated a total of 80K which caused the per mile reimbursement to clubs to be $300 per mile of Corridor 'A' and $125 for Secondary 'A'. This put clubs across the state in a terrible financial bind. The only cure for this is increased registrations.

The good news is that by the end of last season there was over 128K of registrations which means there is 48K+ worth of registrations in the fund that will be rolled over this year.

If you want better trails in better condition, please help us by registering by December 1st.

If you are a member of a club, great! If not, please join a club-it's easy- go to www.nyssnowassoc.org, click on join a club and please join a club where you ride. This will save you $55 per sled registered less the club membership fee.

Thank you!
