Well, ProNine was 100% right it seems...I met up with Indytriple, his brother, buddy and Father. No matter what or who we raced it was always the same. His brother's Animal 04 ZR 900 (He has a sick stud set up and this sled was put together on a Tuesday after a 3 day weekend we think) would do a 1/2 wheelie out of the hole and jump out on everyone by like 5 sleds...then his buddy's Dakota Clutch Kit 03 std F7 would be next and then me and then his Dad on his bone stock 03 ZR 900...YES BONES STOCK... :beerchug:

Indys brother and I have done just about everything the exact same...his is just possessed...which is great for him. After we would all get going...I would pull to within 1 sled of the F7 at best, but no more ever...and the 03 ZR 900 would close in on me...until we tuned in my Secondary Spring by loosening it with Indy's Brother T-Tool he fabricated. The tool rocks and so does loosening your secondary. By doing that I could hang better with the F7 and not get gained on past a small mid range lull by the 03 ZR 900. If I tightened the Secondary Spring, the 03 ZR 900 would hunt me down like a Dog that smelled blood. :banghead:

So in the end, I was psyched, I ran third all day...we killed anything else out there...Polaris Pro X 800, F7, Turbo, Rev, whatever...

I ran a best of 87 through the 660' Radar Run Indy's club sponsored...which matched his Dad's 03 ZR 900 (Can you say I'm happy!!!), and his brother's Animal 900 ran a 91...a local NH dealer's son's 900 only ran an 89...which proves how insane Indy's brother's sled is. frech11.gif My F7 could not hook up and only ran a 78...I find these narrow tracks, even with 136 1.45 studs...hate ice...and they either hook up and launch...or they sit and spin. :banghead:

We did 28 miles of racing that day...can you say RACE ADDICT! frech11.gif

On an uneven lake, with Hand Guards, my 04 F7 Sno Pro did 106 mph on Sat and Sun...so unless I remove the guards or get a perfect surface...that's it. It's still faster than my 03 F7 standard after Cat deceived me and sneekily reburned my ECU which detuned 1 testicle from the sled so I am happy it runs as good as it does...I bet it has 108-110 in it on smooth ice with no hand guards.

My ZR 900 is up to 110 now...from 106-108-to 110...and that's on the same bumpy surface the F7 ran on, and with the same Sporttech Hand Guards too...so I bet that has at least the same 112 most ZR 900s are seeing after the tinkering. We took some mad video on the lake on Sunday with me almost flipping the sled over 3 times riding insane wheelies...I effin love this ZR 900! As fast as the 03 ZRs are stock...this sled feels 50 lbs lighter and a lot more put together...and for that I am glad. :beerchug:

Hey Boss don't short change yourself, i believe your 04 had the second fastest speed didn't you get an 87mph. Mikes best was an 91mph on his 04, 03 900 ran an 86, dakota F7 got 85mph and my lowly zr 8 got an 80. As a side note the damn 05 t660 got an 81! Also didn't you go from an 83 to an 87 with just the secondary adjustment. It was pretty funny where ever we'd race the poo's and doo's would flee the scene after one race LOL. Even though it was so cold it was a good time. It was great meeting you again lol, you still going to Pittsburg this weekend, we are gonna be staying on Back lake, should be alot more competition up there of course. We should hook up and do a ride on sat. and of course some racing on the lake. Bring the F7, its a good ego booster for my 800 LOL.

Indy,

I did run 87...That orange sled ran 89...but I guess I beat the F7 and the 03 900, and yes, all from loosening the secondary spring 4 turns. I would have thought that F7 ran a lot faster...very odd how it ran 85, but was so strong in the races...great sled either way.

It was funny how all the other sleds ran away when we raced! ylsuper.gif

I am 100% going up on Friday AM...probably be there by noon...and I will be tuning the ZR some more I am sure...but I have to give the tool back to your brother (has he made another one?)

Talk to ya soon!

Thanks again to Pro Nine for letting us in on the loosening thing.

graynfast, if you do a search in the F7 forum...you will find plenty on the ECU Gaffe CAT put us through. My 04 F7 has the same top end my 03 Standard did when CAT got through declawing it.
