My freind bought a 98 zr 600 efi Powder special from a polaris dealer in dec. he only rode the sled twice. they said that they went through the clutches and cleaned them. Well every once in a while the primary sticks and won't release the belt. so when he stops the sled dies. I took a screwdriver and tapped it and it popped back. whe we got home i pulled it apart. they greased the whole clutch. So i used brakeclean and removed it all and put it back together. He rode it last weekend for like 50 miles and said it only stuck once. what esle could it be? it only sticks at the bottom ,right before it completely releases. there is no grease left, no burrs, the bushing looks good. when the spring is out the sheaves move smooth and free.the weights move free. I'm kinda stuck and don't know what esle to look at. --todd firecats_rule.gif

Check all your sliding surfaces for scratches or gouges, and also check to see how much play there is in the bearings could be binding also maybe install a new spring or at least check to see if ti is sagged. There was also a recall on clutches from those years 98 and 99 i think make sure they have had the update go to waconiafarm.com for recall information
