I am looking at a 07 Switchback 600 but not sure if I should spend the extra $800 on the CFI or get the 600 HO a save the money. Is the any noticeable difference in the performance between the HO and CFI.

Yes and no. 600 Carb, You can jet, for what ever temp you want, or altitude. It will be harder for it to run at the peak in a lot of different alts. & temps. Top speed not much diff. 5 mph Max. No full gauge package on 07 carb,
CfI runs great, Needs Fuel Vapor valve installed right away, it is a must even though Polaris did not recall. There is a couple of lean spots on fuel map, but runs good at all temps and alts. Full Gauges. Mileage a little better on CFI, Forget about 20mpg bs not going to happen. Much better in mountains, Never uses all my gas up on the CFI beofre the next fuel stop. 600 Carb a little thristier in Mountains. Hope this helps.

Fuel vapor valve is in the tank. It was a recall on the 07 700 Dragons. Polaris will pay for it if your sled is under warranty and it is a must do. It cleans up the low end burble. There is a fuel map update rumored. It needs epa approval. There is a couple of lean spots on the CFI's fuel map. This valve is available at NAPA but I do not know the part number. My dealer was out of them and the got some there.

Thanks so besides the gas mileage I would not notice a big difference in the two engines. Is the Fuel Vapor value a expensive item or just a simple fix?

Simple fix. My 06 Switch was the best Polaris ever out of the box that I have owned, never drove an 07 Carb but I would think it would be just as good. The 07 will steer much easier that the 06. Sounds like your mind is made up, so enjoy. This is the end of the true crossover Switch...

I too just purchased an 07 cfi600 SB. Can you explain how to install the vapor seperator. Does Polaris cover the cost or do I need to purchase this? Thanks

I had my fuel map update done at my Polaris dealer. I know a lot of guyswho have ad it done already. They all say it cleaned up a lot of issues. I have not ridden it yet, but will let you know. I you own a CFI you should have got a letter on this. They looked at the oil pump adjustment again. I had my oil pump adjusted twice before because I did not think it consumed enough oil. They did not change my setting from the last adjustment.

You can put a lot of fuel in your sled for 800.00$. I was told that the carb sled has more on the bottom end the the CFI. Never drove one yet. None around my area yet. I was looking at an 07 as well. For the little it would save me on gas I am going to save my money for this year and keep what I have. As I really like what I have. What I do know is that the 600 HO SDI skidoo renegade does not have near the bottom end the Switchback has.
