will the front suspension shocks off of a zr 800 fit and work correctly on a 99 zl600.

do you mean the a-arm shocks or the skid front arm shock if you mean the front a -arms they will fit but you should measure the fully extended lenght from eye to eye and then measure the compressed lenght. It might work if it is close to the zl shock lenght or you could get some shocks off a 2002zl ss 600 or 800 and bolt them up i have them on my zl 600 work great and are rebuildable if you like act shocks Silver springs on the 600 and green on the 800 0r get yellow off a 2003 zl ss Make sure they are the SS version are you will get the shocks and spring you already have. Hope this helps.

Front shocks from an AWS5 sled will likely be too long for your AWS4 (narrower stance) sled. The longer ZR shock may bottom on compression. Of course, you could have shorter shafts installed by our shock service guy.

the zl shocks are longer because of the 10 inches of travel in front the zr shocks are shorter because the travel is less by changing the shocks will reduce the front travel not by much .

Thanks guys. The 99 zl is in the zr2 chassie with the aws V front with 10 inches of travel. I just comepared mine to a 00 zr and the zr shocks are about 3/4 of an inch longer. My shocks are blown and I want to switch to act shocks because I want to re due the whole suspension to zr specs. I am guesseing that I could get a shorter shaft to make them fit
