just a couple of quick questions. whats the difference between my engine and my buddies 96 xlt? (is it just the size, 597-580). also, i think iread that hp was around 95, and the top speed was about 100mph. is this correct? and lastly why the difference in the front sway bar. (the xlt has the std one that mounts the same as my 86 trail, and my xcr attaches to heim joints and then to the bottom of the trailing arm.) thanks in advance!

All depends, if your buddy has the Xlt SP its the same motor. If he has the standard Xlt, it has slightly different porting and the 34mm carbs.
carbs. Hp is 92 top speed is close to 100, speedos are known to be 10% off.

There is quite a bit of difference between the chassis on a 95 xcr opposed to the xlt. Pretty sure both use the same 600 motor if the xlt came with 38mm carbs. Chassis on the xcr uses a different xc101 skid with less travel than the extra 10 skid in the 96 xlt. Motor is mounted lower in the xcr...different bulkhead. Believe the xlt has more ifs travel also being an extra 10 suspension. 100 mph on the dream meter is possible on both sleds if stock but highly unlikely if taking real world radar gun readings. Xlt rides better...xcr handles twistys better.

Correction on the extra 10 suspension on the xlt...meant to be an extra 12.
