Has any one done this with the Pro X tank, or am I better off buying a boss or a shorty seat?
tech01
It can be done, but you need to modify the seat. I put a fusion seat on my X. I cut down the plastic and foam in the front to match the tank and then had to come up with a mounting system. It came out decent.

Time,

My boss gets pissed when I tell him that.

Tech,

Do you have photos, I like the idea of putting the IQ seat on the Pro X, it's unique.

Here is a picture. one more try and i think i could get it to match the tank perfectly. that blue drove me nuts so that part is black now. i'm pretty happy with how it turned out. i'll try and get some newer pictures this weekend. the seating position is perfect for me.

you will have to do some splicing to get the lights to work. i can't remember which way it is for sure but one system uses a positive and a double ground and the other uses a double positive and a single ground. also, the bulbs in the seat draw to much current, in my opinion, for the edge/pro-x electrical system, so you will have to do something with them. I went with LED replacements. you will have to get white ones though and not the red ones unless you want to knock out the red filters in the tailight. I stupidly bought the red ones and you can barely see them behind the red filter.

How did you mount the front? I like the way it turned out. I'm looking at doing the racer seat which has only one bulb, so I should be good there.

it is only mounted in the middle through the tunnel. i didn't find any good way to mount it to the tank in front

Did you make a bracket to hold the seat? It looks a lot shorter than the original seat, how much did you cut off?

If your looking for a bigger tank, we have the 8.4 gal Polaris tank made for the IQ chassis $269. Tank has mounting holes in the rear that also hold in the seat. Front attaches in with a spring around a square bulge coming out the fromt of the tank but Im sure a bracket could easily be made. Then you can put on the IQ seat and it will match up. Not sure exactly how the front of the tank will look but most of us a creative enough. LMK if you interested 1-866-Full Throttle (385-5847)

Nate,

I don't know if there's room in front of the edge chassis for the mount for the tank? I have been looking at the IQ all summer I haven't looked at the Pro X lately.

I noticed that you listed the tank at 8.4, did someone measure it? I know it's listed by Polaris as either an 8.8 or a 9 gallon.

sort of. as far forward as i could get in the storage compartment i have a plate with holes through to the tunnel and another plate on the inside of the tunnel with bolts going through.

So the very from of the seat is "unsupported". Or does it rest on the tank? The IQ race seat is hollow with no storage under it.
