Hey all, a buddy of mine had me do a compression test on his summit 600 rotax and I didn't have a bomb manual handy to see if the comp readings were proper. I did as the gauge always recommends, multiple compression strokes per cylinder finding the peak compression. The engine, pushing cold with WOT and no ignition, was showing the same readings on both cylinders:

90psi

110psi

122psi (peak, no higher, no lower)

It followed the same pattern on both cylinders, exact same numbers, exact same order. I did 6 pulls per cylinder and always hit 122 on the third crank and never got any higher than that. Both cylinders are reading the same so that's good. Does 122psi sound peak for this engine? Thanks

That sounds about right. 122psi in both is still good comp.

Thanks I'll let him know.
