Ok so I'm fixing my cousins sled, which I stoled her and she decided that it didn't need oil and the crank seized. So I called around and found a used motor for 450$ cnd in ontario about 1.5 hours from my house, also saw this on ebay EBAY indy 500 crank

Suggestions? Should I just buy the whole motor or get this and then use the saved money to get new pistons and rings gaskets or anything else it may need (Oil haha)

Thanks

Crap just read the post again and its a Fan cooled one, I guess I can't use it...

Ok but I found a complete motor on ebay with only 3000mile but again its a 91 as far as I know the chain case changed and some other MINOR stuff but the basic motor is totally the same and should bolt in right? dohdoh.gif

Turbo... that crank/case is a liquid not a fan... I'm pretty sure that the s/n ECP50L means its a liquid...bid away

The 91 & 95 500 crankshafts are the same part number.

part out the sled and buy a different 500. I think you would be better off.

Funny you say that, I was talking to her today and told her it might be better off to just buy a newer one, Its a 95 and it had XC100 rear skid which is like riding a brick, so I think thats what she is going to do I'll have a look on this side and others for used sleds within driving distance of Toronto 5-6 hours max most likely south of the boarder because of the $ now.

Thanks guys
