i need help tuning my F7 this winter. i want more of a snap off the start like my zr600, and top end like my zr. i was seeing 110-113 out of my zr, but only 105 with my F7 before i blown my belt. what do i do??

Better get used to the 105 mph. Your sno pro track is robbing you of a few mph's. Trust me, your sno pro isn't meant for the fast running. You'll love it more for the way it handles in the bumps. Throw on some C&A Razors and you'll rail in the corners. If you choose to run with the stock skis, then be prepared to push in the corners.

105 MPH is about right for a Sno Pro track like snowman-F7 said. You may be able to squeeze a few more mph with clutching but the 1.375 inch track is a real windmill and reduces top end. My wife's stock 03 F7 with a 1 inch track runs about 115 on average on the lakes and my 03 F7 Sno Pro would hit a brick wall at 100 MPH before I went to a big bore. The best speed I saw after the F8 kit was 118 MPH but that was after alot of money and tuning dyno time ect... So if top end is the most important thing for you then you need to clutch it and go to a 1 inch studded track and then you will see speeds over 110+ There are some guys that will claim they have achieved those speeds with a sno pro track and well tuned F7 on the dream meter but Radar runs quiet most people that think they are running faster then they truly are. That being said I will say that a properly studded Firecat will display fairly accurate speeds when compared to the radar gun. Non studded is a different story. I would not give up my sno pro track for top end speed personally becuase the sled is so much more fun with the big lug track in the trails.

i have C&As on it now i just want neck snaping acceleration. so i smoke my buddys rev 600 sdi in the 660, not go back and forth with wins. i have a d&d clutch kit in it. what else can i do?

Something is wrong with your clutching if your dad is beating you in 660' on a Rev 600. My buddy has a Rev 600 and I beat him all the time in short blast. Even with a helpful lead I still real him in. Is your sled studded?? That has alot to do if your up against a studded sled and your not. It's all about traction in short burst runs.

You bet those C&A Razors make a big differance. It's so much like night and day changes to the way your F7 handles in corners. I rode my F7 on stock skis the first year and it pushed through every corner. I tried different carbides with little to no help. Then I put on the C&A's and whamo, I was turning my sled on a dime. Truly a must have for any Firecat owners. Best $300 investment I made to my sled.

I'm with him. Used to own a '04 F7 EFI Sno-Pro with D&D clutch kit. Great on the amazing hook-ups/wheelies and the handling part on the bumps. Never lost to anyone in short outburst runs except for that Yamaha (Couldn't remember which model) with ported, tuned, piped and turbo'ed sled which kicked my ass very BAD up in Tug Hill. Fell on my face flat at 98 MPH at the top end.
