Thanks Brad and Phazer! This track was advertised as a 1.5 Ripsaw when I bought it. Today, I got it down from the loft to sit around and admire it smoke.gif When I got to looking at it, I broke out the tape measure to measure the lugs and the tallest was 1.25". That was when I thought I got ripped off, hence this post.

My questions now are.........How did these two guys come to the conclusion that it was a 1.5' Ripsaw, not a 1.25? How do you measure lug height? Is the thickness of the track taken into consideration? That wouldn't make any sense though. When I measured from the bottom of the longest lug it was 1.25". Why?? Thanks again!

No, track thickness is not taken into account when measuring the lug height. When measuring lug height you should only measure from the bottom of the lug to the top of the lug. Sounds to me like those guys measured it wrong and you only have a 1.25" Ripsaw.

When I bought my Predator, it was supposed to be an 1 1/2". It was advertised as such. I threw a tape on it and it came out 1 1/2 on the outside lugs, and 1 1/4" on the inside lugs. But like I said, the pn. shows it as a 1 1/2"... Now my 1 1/4" Ripsaw did actually measure out 1 1/4".

2602-005 is a 1.5" Ripsaw from what I dug up, but those aren't the part numbers I'm used to seeing. Could be an Arctic Cat quiet drive Ripsaw.

I just got confirmation from Bruce Dashnaw at Camoplast that its a 1.5 RipSaw. He didn't mention if its a take-off or not though. I'm happy with the fact it is a 1.5. Now I can sleep at night. biggrin.gif

lets not discount the possibility that someone prior to you cut it down, the ripsaws have variing lug heights. they may have cut them down to the lowest one (being 1.25) to get and even stiffer lug than the real 1.25 lug ripsaws.
i used to have a 1.5 ripsaw on my old prox and it measured 1.5 on the tallest lugs. the shortest ones were about 1.25 if memory serves correctly.
oh and take it from me they suck balls off trail climbing anything. they trench like a madman, but good on trail ond off trail in semi setup snow and such on flater ground.

It still has the varying lug heights and it hasn't been cut down as far as I can tell. I got it from Kens Sports via eBay and the price was too good to pass up. I'm happy now that I have confirmation that its a 1.5" Arctic Cat take off. I ride mainly on trails since I'm somewhat disabled from a skydiving accident. I probably couldn't get myself unstuck if I had to. If I don't like it, I'll get something else and sell it.
