can anybody show me where they placed there spare belt on there fusion 900? i think that it is a dumb place where they have it.. or i might just be putting it in wrong??? i dono, but if it does go in the way i think it goes in, than the belt is going to be melted on the pipe (IMO).

You put in down the front , nose down in the spot and clip the back end only , I also tie it so it's secure. I know I orig put it on it's side and it was hitting the pipe until I saw it out here a few years back.

edit: does it flop around in there when it is set like that? or does the hood close on it enough to keep in tight?

mine stayed good for 5000 miles
when you close the hood it does touch
a little wiggle and the hood goes down nice

Yup, a few of us that just bought the Fusions at same time sat there scratching our heads. Luckily, it was before snowfall and I searched around here and saw the answer. Laughed at myself and then told the others who immediately started laughing too. It takes simple things like this to make one remember that we really aren't that all smart. LOL.

If you purchase the SLP air box it comes with a new clutch cover. you can remove your belt clip from the front and mount it on the cover. just like the old days.

I stuck mine in the storage spot under the seat, 2 of them will fit in there easily.

When I had my 06 900 Fusion I had the SLP airbox and clutch cover. No matter how much I tried the belt did not like to stay in the SLP belt holder on the clutch cover. One time I even smelled belt burning which I thought was odd. I opened up the hood and saw the belt sitting on the engine which was causing the belt to burn. So keep your eye on your belt.

WATCH YOUR BELTS THE STOCK HOLDER WILL WEAR FLAT SPOTS IN THE BELT. AND THE BELTS BEING WELL OVER 100.00 DOLLARS A PIECE I PUT MINE IN THE TRUNK OF THE SLED..... WON'T REALLY HURT THE SLED JUST WON'T PERFORM THAT WELL WITH A FLAT SPOT IN IT . I LEARNED THIS THE HARD WAY.

i am glad that there is websites like this to help out with any questions a person has. Thanks to all!
it was a real head scratcher when i seen this set up for a spare belt holder, i am just going to zip tie it tight in there so it wont move at all during riding.. and if worst comes to worst and i blow a belt, i just gotta give the spare a good tug and the zip ties will come right off.
i like the 07 IQ spare belt set up ALOT better.
