Hi

currently I have a 24' travel trailer frame with tandem axles, I am installing new out rigger brackets to increase its width to 101" and a 3" perimeter angle all the way around.., I plan on putting down a 5/8 PT plywood for a deck with a V-nose, does anyone know of a company that would be willing to build an aluminium enclosuer with a v-nose, walk in door , four fuel hatches two roof vents and front & rear drop doors? I will have CAD produced drawings so I'm looking for someone who can do a professional job and for a reasonable cost, not looking for something for nothing, but don't want to spend more on a custom enclosurer than what a new trailer will cost.

Thanks

Yum

I am not trying to sound negative, how ever I have looked into building my own custom trailer on a few occasions. I have the ability to do 90% of the work myself, a garage to build it in and various suppliers for the different materials (corners, nose cones, ect.). Every time I think I can do it for a reasonable price I add up the costs and Damn if the off the shelf trailer isn't the same price or cheaper with equal options.

I am not saying don't do it, just weigh out the costs before you jump in.

Oh I don't disagree, that's why I 'm looking for a company that builds trailer enclosurers who maybe willing to build from the deck up.

A buddy of mine had a custom one place enclosure build 4-5 years ago by a company up in Maine and they where very fair on the price, I was hoping to find out who they were or any other fabricators that may be out there willing to do the enclosurer on an already built trailer.

I'm looking to have a decent "Box" doesn't have to be built with polished deck plate everywhere, I also have several of the components ( roof vents, walk in door, fuel hatch doors) Corregated stack siding is also ok with me as well.

I would give these guys a call. They make trailers in the Waterville area of maine and make a wide selection of very nice trailers at a resonable cost. Even though mission trailers is new they have been making trailers for many years, they just sold their old line to someone else and started up a new company.

How about the sled dock company in candia NH, they make clam shell caps for other trailers, maybe they would make a top for yours.

I spoke with John T about doing an enclosurer, he said they might consider it, but it would have to be done during their slower season , inbetween building docks, and sled trailers, which is understandable. They are great people up there, bought a few covers from them over the years, never any complaints.

I just wish my buddy could remember who built his custom one place cover, the guy was in Southern Maine when he had his made, but that was nearly ten years ago. So if anyone may know who that may have been please let me know.

Thanks for the replies and please keep them coming!
