A 1.25 will be a huge improvement over your 0.75, but in the deep 1.25's still get into trouble. If you are going with a 1.25 afterall, get the Predator, its the best 1.25 for powder.

One other option is to go with a 1.375" lug. Camoplast makes them for Arctic Cat. They came on the ZR 900 snow pros I believe and you can get them in a quiet track version as well.
I had one on my REV last year and is was wicked. I do a lot of riding around Riding Mtn and the Ducks and that track was great in the powder. I got stuck a lot less last year than I did with my 1.25" I had the year before.
The best part about this track is tracksusa.com sells them brand new for around $329

I've got a 1.25x136 on my sled. I love it, but always wonder what the 1.5" would be like. For the mixed riding I do around here, the 1.25" is perfect. I use my 2" out West.

Yea i was in the same situation as you last year i upgraded from a 7/8 to a 1.25 ripsaw and it made a huge difference off the line my sled just jumps instead of spinning the track and it does better in deep snow but not amazing

I replaced my stock banana skin on the ZL500 with a 1.25 predator and it was a huge difference. Like a brand new sled. With the 121, the front end would point up in the sky in the deep and leaning one side or the other was the only steering, but it was fun as hell. Couldn't keep up with the bigger longtrack machines, but if you can work the throttle, you shouldn't get stuck. The only time I got stuck was on a little beaver pond and that was only because I dug down to ice. I would definitely recommend the upgrade. The next year I put on rail extensions and went up to a 1.5 X 136 ripsaw and it was a different machine again. The front end came down and I had the steering back, top speed in the powder increased quite a bit as well. Just not quite as fun. It can go through a hell of alot more now though.

I have a 1.6 on an XF700 I also have the stock 1.25. Should I leave the 1.6 on or swap it to the 1.25 ??I mostly ride ditches, trails and open lakes once and a while. Will I suffer that much on the top end??

I replaced my stock track with a 1.25" Ripsaw last year and never got stuck an 3900km of riding. I powered through all kinds of situations were I would have gotten stuck with my old track. I wouldn't want any taller lugs when riding on trails, you can feel the 1.25" track vibrate on the hard packed stuff.

Depending on the style and weight of track you will see a couple mph loss on the big end. I had a 1.5 intense on my xfire 700 and used it in all conditions. That along with new skis were the best additions to that sled that i made.
A 1.25 ripsaw will be a huge improvement over the .9 lug. The ripsaw is a good all around track, just isnt that good in the sugary conditions. A 1.5 track works excellent as well, however if you are strictly running lakes and groomed trails it wont be your best option.
We have tracks in stock and will be on sale in the next week or so.
Good luck!

Thanks I'll run the 1.6 and see how it runs. Go with 1.25

Revster, did you notice any difference in ride or handling with the 1.375" Ripsaw compared to the 1.25"?
Has anyone else used a 1.375" that can comment on the difference?
I was shopping for a 1.25" but I found a great deal on a 1.375" and I'm not sure if I should get it.

Sorry, I just realized I referred to the 1.375" as a Ripsaw - I believe Revster was actually referring to the 1.375" AC Sno Pro track (made by Camoplast).
Does anyone have any experience with this track? How does it compare to a 1.25" Ripsaw?

One the trail they are both good tracks. The ripsaw is at home on the trails and might have the edge. But when you head into the powder the 1.375" performs much better. If you are a straight trail rider than the ripsaw might be the way to go. But if you ride off trail at all, save some money and get a better track.
Here is how well my 1.375 hooked up....

Great pic Revster!!
I love playing in the powder but my group tends to go on longer rides and spend more time on the trails so for $30-40 more, I might be better with the 1.25" Ripsaw.
Does anyone else have any thoughts on the 1.375" AC Sno Pro compared to a 1.25" Ripsaw?

We've got an 03.5 Blair Morgan Rev 800 and we put a 1.375 Cat track on it last year and my brother won't go back to the 1.25" Ripsaw. The difference in traction is quite noticeable but there is a loss on top end. The 1.375 is an awesome track in the powder but don't have anyone follow too close in the trails because it throws up chunks of snow.
