I'm lookin to get a stronger machine for the deep. I have a chance @ a 03 800RMK 151. Anybody have any thought or past experiences(good -or- bad) on this machine. How would it compare in the mountains to say a Summit 800 or a MC 900? And what about mods?
Thanks Yall

I have rode a few, and from what i have seen they all keep up about the same. The 03 already has a team clutch stock. I dont have much to say about ski doo but the 900 M1 is a nice sled also. However if you are into jumping drifts and such the mountain cat feels like a tank to jump after getting off a RMK. I also dont like the trail ride the 900 m1 has it beats the piss out of me. m2c.gif

Ok. From someone who owns an 800 RMK 151 and a 800 Vertical escape 159. My wifes 800 is an awsome machine. I weigh 315 lbs. I did some serious hill climbs this weekend against a high mark with a195 pound rider. We were in a big bowl out side of Lake Tahoe. I could always get at least 30 or 40 ft higher. When he drove my sled he made it over the top. What does that tell you. If you can get it for a decent price, you wont be sorry.

Thanks Guys;
I think I'll be goin with the 800 switchback. Due to the fact that most of my riding is in the flat lands with only a few mountain rides a year. I'll see what kind of deal I can get on one now a days.

switchback is a good choice. i personaly would take a rmk 800 just because they are excellent mod sleds. but the switchback is an all around awesome sled! buttrock.gif

Bring it out here and lets see what it will do. Remember, I wasn't talking on a flat, I am talking about climbing in deep powder. Where is Whitehorse. I think that is where it says you live?
