whihc would be a better quad to start off on a Yamaha Raptor 350 or a Honda trx 400 ex?

The raptor 350 is just a warrior with diffrent fenders. Good machines tho. My buddy has a 2000 and he put htat thing through hell and back. Hondas are excellent also. 400ex probably has a little bit more get up and go.

I had a 05 raptor before i got yfz, i beaqt the thing nev er had anything fail, it is pretty much a warrior but lighter, lil more power, and different look. I would go wiht the 400ex, theyre a little bit fast6er but are just as reliable. But you might wanna look into z400 or kfzx400, theyre just as reliable, better suspension, more updated motor, it is quicker and higher toop end.

what would you recommend a z 400 or a trx 400 ex? im kinda leanin towards the z cause of liquid cooling but i was wondering what you guys think and what could i get a used one for?

you can get them for around same as 400ex now, but the motors are new technology, the z400;s are lighter, better shocks, better ergoes, better handling, and alot better motor.

The question asked: What would be the best quad to start out on - Yaam Rap or honda EX400.. I believe the peremeters here in were established at the prior stentence.. All this formula tech sneaking into our sport is GREAT but starting out the old fashioned was still has its advantages IMHO..
Heres the rub:
400 has no reverse - 350 does AND its the type that sets the benchmark for ALL quads as it can be used anytime!! Yammies 6 speeder is geared with proper spacing in ratios all the way up~~ Honda could use some training in this.. Yammahas use of second class e start mechinisms has caused them grief BUT they are few if any of the others to continue a back up pull starter -- WAYYYY COOL...
BOth great starter quads and I have owned them both.. I think the Yam gets my thumbs up for a starter quad.. Stick on a set of spider tracks and you have one fun mud,sand, hill climbing toy!!

your wrong the honda 400ex DOES have reverse sence 05, and it is BETTER than the raptor 350's and is alot easier. Also the spacing in the 6 speed isnt that great, their pretty much is no first or second gear theyre way to close. the 400ex is perfect gearing wise, and also yamaha doesnt have pull start on any of their sport quads just elecctric start which works alsome on both honda and yamaha. Not trying to disagree but jsut iforming you on how everything is as we speak.
