Ok...this is probably a stupid question, but i have an 04 X2, bought it used, no manual. I did an exhaustive search on all this and learned a lot, but, What are ideal settings for the clickers? what do they actually change/do? I assumed the higher the number/setting, the stiffer? the lower the number= softer? They are on set on 6 right now, rode that way all last season... Front end sags a little bit and the springs show about 1.5-2" of threads. I do semi aggressive trail riding on (usually) rough trails, mogals, stutter bumps, ect. hit some small jumps, field riding, cruising.... Any advise for set up?....how bout some clicker advise? Front and Back? Thanks!!!!! I appreciate it!!

They adjust compression dampering - 1 = soft, 9 = hard. Just play with them and find out what suits your riding style.

Here are a few downloads for you.

Are your springs cranked stiff or loose? Cranking the springs way up will make you under dampened on the rebound.

have your shocks been serviced lately?

Personally, I always run my clickers near the lowest setting, but my shocks are different than yours. I found that going stiffer on the fronts would make for a lot of bar feedback in really hard frozen bumps. It was tiring at times.

That sled should have walker evans shocks on it if it is an x2. You may have heard this but the clickers sometimes show no difference in rates on a schock dyno. Now I am not saying all clickers are like this but a lot of walker evans clickers show no response when setting the dial to a different #. If th shocks have not been rebuilt I suggest to get them done. When setting that adjustment it all depends on rider weight and the way the rider rides. When the dial is turned to a higher # it is supposed to stiffen the shock, but you are only to adjust the clicker one setting at a time and then try to compress the shock and to get a rebound action and then turn the dial again for proper adjusting.
