We tyipcally stay in Twin Lakes when we come to snowmobile for a 3-4 day stay. This year we're looking to start at Lake Geogibic and head North. Probalby stay the 1st night at Lake Geogibic and the second night at Twin Lakes. Then looking for input where to stay the 3rd night? Houghton would be fine - but we're looking for something a little different - where else could we go??

I've heard of somewhere that has a lot of decent places to eat along a street and you can even snowmobile right inside a covered roof?

Run over to Big Bay. There trails are good! They get curvy once you get close to town.

Copper Harbor... Hmmmm, or head over to L'Anse or Baraga to the casinos... but sometimes they lack the white stuff.

Copper might be an option, but we've been there a dozen times. Big Bay might be an option - how are the trails from Twin Lakes to Big Bay?

These past few years have had really low snow around the Baraga/L'anse area. Once out of L'anse towards Big Bay and it's pretty good. We love staying in Big Bay, cool little town, real snowmobile freindly. If you get a chance, ride the trail south from Big Bay to Marquette and back. That has got to be one of the best trails in the world IMO. Hilly, twisty, but not too tight.

Once you get past L'anse it is good, but you have to go through town and there is always shit for snow. Once you get 5 miles out of town the snow deepens. The trial Dirty is talkin about is fun to.

I agree with above post about BIG BAY....awesome place. once there check out the lake, its huge and an oppritunity to let loose, great views from the middle of the lake, great picture taken spot specially just before sunset...awesome, highly recommended, great people.
