Well, spent my afternoon throwing my sled back together, ahhh what a way to spend Thanksgiving.

Got my newly painted panels back on after many attempts at matching doos yellow, and my Boss seat on. Love the absolutely smooth and glassy look of the new paint.

Only thing left is to decide if I am keeping my painted windsheild, or going with the regular see-through yellow 440 windsheild, and whether I will put some kind of graphics on the side (was thinking just a small ski-doo and MXZ like the one on the hood) or leave her naked and beautiful.

Thanks fellas, as I said its a work in progress, pretty sure I'm going with some sort of small graphics on the side. Windsheild is still undecided though.

Whoa!! At least us doo guys are backing a company that has been making there own engines longer then 7 years. Oh and did I mention the exit from the jetski market while polaris had the best 3 seater on the market. They did that year before the 3 seater market exploded. Not a great vision on that management team uzi.gif . Some day all rec vehicles will be BRP baby.

Ok let the massive retailiation flame blahblah1.gif i_need_snow.gif begin.
Scrimmer
She's a beauty!!! Get a smoked windshield!!

Three words is all I need to sum up Polaris' unsurpassed iconic reliability status in the snowmobiling world ........ The Polaris Indy

Ok maybe just a little flamage flame.gif grinning-smiley-023.gif

Nobody ... not Doo ... not Cat ... not Yami have ever in their existance ever built a generation of sleds, that even came close to the popularity and reliability of the Polaris Indy chassis. If it wasnt for the Polaris Indy we'd all still be running around at 30 mph on boggies and leaf springs. That my friend Al speaks volumes, so twice they've come out with a less than reliable single model, the 800 Storm and the Fusion 900, I'd have to say thats a kick assed sled industry track record, and now the awesome industry leading idea inspiering IQ chassis is carrying on where the Indy has left off ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif ylsuper.gif

As for Polaris' watercraft market ... lets just see where the BRP Spyder is in 5 years, I doubt it'll be in the same rank as the Polaris Victory line.

Sorry for the highjack Andy I just had to set your compadry Al straight lol.gif

No question it was a good chasis at the time, but the engine reliability goes to mitubishi. Ok thats my brand bashing untill snow.

Back to Andy's sweet paint job......... do you mind me asking how much to paint? Did you have to sand the plastic or treat it?
jimster
ylsuper.gif ...THAT"S PRETTY KOOL LOOKIN'!!!!

There was never an "indy" chassis. I think your refering to the wedge chassis and the indy name was also branded on the Gen II and edge aswell. Though in the later years indy was used only for the 500 fuji motor as XC replaced the rest with its Liberty motor.

A little food for thought!

Ok ok spliting hairs call it the "Indy Line" then
kev144
Ha yeah, the indy was definaty a big big name in the snowmobile world. The first IFS with trailing arms was a good idea but just didnt stick 20+ years later. I guess that was why ski doo and yamaha copied the design. At least polaris got electronic reverse out of the whole deal with doo.

Andy:

Looks great! The painted side panels are a big improvement. I hope they stand up for you.

I think a black/smoked windshield would be a nice touch.

BTW - to the other guys. Polaris motors were made by Fuji Heavy industries. Which is the parent company of Subaru - not Mitisubishi.

Boys - please don't let your little pissing contest over the 2005 Fusion spread into other threads. Take your little discussion to PMs or the general forum.

Thanks.

FreezerBurnt
