very novice to this sport , but would like to know if
1. can a new starter be purchased for this year and model
1992 formula plus if old starter is bad
2. have removed primary clutch and can see the starter gear. when i turn the key to engage the starter i can hear the sarter click
and see the small gear move. the gear thou dose not spin or push out . would like to repair if possible. getting to old to
keep pull starting.

this is my first post hope it makes sense.

Sounds like a dead battery to me , get it load tested before you do anything else .

Sounds exactly what mine is doing...i go to turn the key and all i hear is a click...i never took anything apart yet to see but i'm pretty sure it's the battery. I had it fired up today trying to chrage the battery...still wouldn't start
