For the last 2 years there website goes down in April and does not come up until near the season starts. Last year I called the club secrateray at work to let her know and then the site came up a couple of days later.
This certainly makes it difficult t sell passes online, and recruit volunteers for brushing, etc. Maybe they have all the help they need?
The OFSC should buy an overall hosting program with a good provider and let all the clubs host from one provider. This would save the clubs money as the buying power of the OFSC would be greater then any one club.
That way speed of sites would be the same. The club could still control the site, and look and feel of the site but it would be professional hosted eliminating the "site down" issue you get with home based hosting.
Al their website went down due to a silly mistake of who registered the site and renewal (he is no longer with the club and no one was able to access it for renewal) Ron Beach should have everything back up and running anyday now at www.heartofontario.ca.
I'll pm you Rons contact info (I don't want to post it due to spybots)
As for centralizing all the club web sites through the OFSC. Good idea and I believe it was brought up at this years AGM and is being looked into, but again this still requires volunteers to run it.
Seeing as your an IT guy Al why not volunteer to handle their website for them

I know for sure that the guy's and gal's that volunteer over at HOO are all ready overworked and streched to the limit as it is.
IMO it would be better to let the clubs handle their websites on their own, and use the oportunity to gain some direct club sponsorship along the way.
