So I got the annual letter from VAST yesterday that ask permission to use your land for the trail system like every year we filled it out and sent it back in. The question that I have is does VAST offer any kind of discount or reduced price on TMA for the people that allow them to use the land? we have been buying 5 TMA's every year for the last 5 year and I didn't even think if we got a break for letting them use our land.

VAST doesn't offer landowners a discount on TMA'S. However, this year VAST is offering a family sled discount. The first 2 sled TMA's are at the normal price, but any others are at a reduced price. All of the sleds must be registered to the same person.
The landowners in Vermont that allow us to cross their property do so out of kindness and generosity. Thank God for that. About 75% of our trails are on private land and if we had to pay to be on those trails, well, VAST probably couldn't survive.
As a Club officer, I truly Thank you for allowing us on your property and I wish there was a way to reward you for your kindness. The legislature has been asked to look into the possibility of a tax relief for landowners that allow a recreation trail on their property. I'm not sure where this will go.
Once again, THANKS

YES THANK YOU!

Whether the L.O. gets a discount or not is up to the club. Our club offers free "club membership" (15 dollars off the price of a TMA) to our landowners. It is the only thing that we can do short of giving them a free TMA.

You do get a land owner discount, If you are an out of state land owner you pay the same a a resident for your TMA. You just don't get any extra for being a really nice guy for letting the trail go across your property.
Thanks for that!!!!!!!

Hello all...this is a really good idea...as the Program Manager for the Cabot Skylighters I can say we never thought of this. We offer an annual Gift Certificate and Dinner...but not club membership...Thanks for the idea...by all means our Landowner / Riders deserve it. We do send all our landowners our quarterly newsletter and invite them to all functions...but this would be a nice perk! We do very much appreciate the use of private land, without it we would truly go no where! Thank you! www.cabotskylighters.com

I definately think it's a good idea. Giving them a discounted or free TMA might just be what it takes to turn them into snowmobilers, which could make the difference between a happy land owner who has learned what the hobby has to offer, and an unhappy land owner who closes his land.
