Big thanks to all who made it out for a few hours this morn, to drop down some swamp bridging and brush a mile or so of trail.

Special thanks to HCS members DavidN, Kevchev, REVTECHss, GTXer and our trail foreman Rampman .... thumbsup.png

We managed to get the E108 Land Trail completed today (other than a small bridge repair that can wait till next season, if we don't get it before the swamp fills up) bridged another small bad water section and brushed up to the reeds. Started at 8:30 and done by 11am and having pints at "Team Nutter Central" by 11:15. While back at my place Takonna did start up on both his sleds, both fired right up and ran great with minimal hassle, same for our riding bud Terry's sled. Then the sky's opened and it poured buckets ......... gotta love it when things are timed just right smiley-faces7.gif

We split the crew up today, myself and 3 others walked and brushed while the others licked off the section of bridging, so I didn't get many pic's today.

Thanks Jay

The best part is for the last couple of years a fair amount of new younger blood has started coming out thumbsup.png

Which is awesome, cause the older lads deserve a break, they've more than put their time in ....... now it's time for us young bucks to step in and take the reins, and let them enjoy what they've put together for us.

Good stuff!

It is volunteer work like this that keeps the trails open for all to use. So if you enjoy trail riding, lend a hand and help keep the trails going.

Awesome Steve, were going to need all the help we can get thumbsup.png

I'll post full details on here and on our club forums, as soon as I work out a couple things with the other clubs, hopefully no later than tomorrow night.

Nice work on that water spot!

Funny how those spots can be a real nuisance in the winter eh? They just won't freeze and set up, so you get water/mud coming through regardless of the temperature.

Over here in Kitchener, I get anxious to get out and do trail work but we really can't get started until late October. The corn is still standing in many fields, so we can't get into the bush to clear. We don't bother staking until we can do complete sections, otherwise you end up driving over the same trail twice, and it's not a good use of poeple power.

I find it funny how you can be pounding trail stakes and you see poeple drive by who realize.......winter is coming brr.gif ........if they're sledders, they get whip-lash checking out the action.

We'll be out in the Waterloo region, sooner then I probably realize. (Watch a GTSC club member get on here and post that I just missed day #1 of trail clearing.. nono.gif ..)

Keep up the excellent work, we can't doo any trail work until Nov, farmers prefer it that way!!

Thanks guy's beer_cheers.gif

Ya we can't realy touch many of our field sections till the early to mid Nov either, but we have more then enough swamp and bush sections, and road allowances to keep us busy till then. So far this year the blow down has been minimal "knock on wood".

One turkey in the oven at noon and the other ready for the fryer at 5 ish, all the kids are well the Nintendo and Sony PS games, and the adults are either napping or watching movies. So the wife said since everyones occupado, I can head out for a rip on the quad till I have to do the fryer bird at 5 ............. woo hooo ! going to head out and check on the section of E108 were re-routing next Saturday with a couple other clubs thumbsup.png

Happy Thanksgiving Folks !!

Great work guys. We have our first meeting on Tuesday and probably start brushing out Dufferin Forest as well as doing a couple bridge repairs. Can't wait to get started.
