Hey Guys,

My buddies 670 engine in his 98 formula Z was getting oil in the antifreeze and they told him it was a rubber o-ring that was on the water pump that was likely letting it in, so today we pulled the head and pots and the pump cover to find tis o-ring and replace some other gaskets too.

My question is...we tried digging out that pump shaft seal with a pik thinking it was just a bit bigger then the hole but found it's a lot bigger.....do we need to split the case to get at it? Do we need to pull the flywheel too?

Any help would be great and anybody that has the head bolt tightening pattern and what ft lbs it's supposed to be would be great, and also the pattern etc. for the 4 bolts in each cyl.

Thanks !!

You got to split the case and remove the rotary shaft. Make sure you replace ALL gaskets AND seals. If your gonna do this yourself i suggest you get yourself a manual with step by step instructions, unless your mechanically inclined your gonna need it. Good luck. Check E-Bay for a manual on a disc , someone's got them there pretty cheap.
