Are there any new trails in the Abitibi Temiscamingue region that will be open for 08. Two years ago there was a trail going south east out of Temiscamingue to Rapides de Jochmans but last year it was closed. It made for a good two day trip with an overnight at Joncas. Lots of logging going on so lets hope for some new trails.

I heard it was closed last winter due to major windfall.You might want to contact snowmobile clubs at both ends.I will try to seek for infos since i know the regional director pretty well in the Outaouais region.

Any word on the Rapides de Jochmans to Joncas trail for this season?

When I inquired about this trail late last year, I was told by the guy on the phone (I think I called a contact on the Pengouins website... site is down today) that they have just been informed that all bridges on the trail had to be safetied to remain open. Never the less we had a great weekend ride up there in mid-March.

Would be a shame to lose that 100 mile section of trail as it is a great region for snow and real nice open riding.

Any chance the Quebec Gov. will become more involved to save our sport !
