Well I am having problems with Windows Media Player 11 for Vista. I can't stream videos on sites that use WMP or listen to Sirius online. The player's on the sites will say "Connecting" and then "Ready"...you click play and nothing will happen. cussing.gif Started a couple weeks ago this problem...I think Windows downloaded an update for WMP 11 and now streaming will not work. Anyone have any suggestions or fixes on how to repair this problem??? veryangry.gif If not I will have to wait until WMP updates come out.

VISTA and MEDIA PLAYER 11 are problems......first i'd go back to MEDIA PLAYER 10 and try that.....otherwise i woulda stuck with XP....most buyers are unloading VISTA and putting XP MEDIA CENTER back on.....most are using XP PRO though as media center needs an GOOD GRAPHICS CARD like NVIDIA 7300 or better....did ya scan it with scanners?

Go to control panel/add and remove /Uninstall WMP 11 ..it will revert back to prev. ver. (wmp10) automat. ALL settings that were in 11 will be retained in the 10.

THen ignore all prompts for update pop ups you will see in the future, for wmp 11. Go to tools/options on the upper bar on wmp10 and set AUTO UPADATES for once a month. Too bad ,by default this cant be turned off!

Yeah unfortuantly when I bought my laptop it came with Vista Home Premium. Vista was actually working well for me until this problem with WMP 11. To add/remove programs on vista you must go to "Programs And Features." When I go there I cannot find WMP 11 to uninstall. I know it was defiently an update that has caused this issue. Hopefully Microsoft will come out with with a fix for WMP 11. Ugghhhh I shoulda got a Mac. hahaha

Cheers

Everyone I know is taking vista out and putting xp in replacement - why dont you just hit the system restore button and restore the system to the day before you "UPDATED" and then set your PC to just tell you updates are ready to be downloaded and installed instead of just done automatically, then you get the choice of checking off what updates you want to download and install - which of course you know that MEDIA PLAYER WILL NOT be one of your future selections.
