Hey, folks, if you want to see what the country would be like with today's liberals in charge, not the JFK liberals and Democrats, but today's liberals, take a look at Michigan.

They had a government shutdown or close to it for a few hours over budget problems and the governor up there came up with the last-minute solution to solve the problem.

The last thing the state of Michigan needs is a tax increase, and they got one, a sizeable, healthy tax increase to, on paper, shut the budget deficit or close it. It's just going to continue to stifle economic activity throughout the State of Michigan. I feel for you people, I really do.

But you know something? You people in Michigan, you are great patriots, you are doing something very valuable and you need to take pride in your own suffering and pain, because what you are doing is demonstrating to the rest of the country, the other 49 states, what will happen to this country if people like Jennifer Granholm and the Democrats and your legislature up there get control of the United States government and the Department of Treasury.

So while I know it's tough and I know you're irritated, I know you've got to be spitting, fuming, and mad up there, understand that you are providing a visible laboratory; you are doing a great service.

Please don't leave the state just yet, especially going into the election next year. Your suffering, your poverty will be a dynamic example for people like me to illustrate for the rest of the country just what will happen if today's modern liberals end up in total control of the US government.

Call it all you want, the Bullshit is in Lansing on both sides of the fucking isle and most importantly in the Governor's office!!!

That witch had a couple of proposals brought to her that were good and she turned them down. She's wanted to raise taxes from the very beginning. She's not fooling anyone. You might ask how she got re-elected. Voss was the republican running against her. He is just as shady as she is. He reminds me of Bush, and you know where that got us. I think she got elected because she was lesser of the two evils. There just wasnt anyone good to vote for. She has cost Michigan far more jobs than she's brought in, putting us in a bigger hole with the budget. Big automotive industrie here and if she dont watch it, she's going to shove them out. I think we have 3 more years of her bull chit. Then after that it will take 4 more years to get back on track. So ten years from now we might be back to before she was first elected. All depends on how much more damage she does from here on out. I'm just waiting for her to try stealing the money from trail clubs. I think this is protected, but it wouldn't a shock if she tried. I can almost guarantee trail permits will be going up next year.

Weird but true, Devos decided to run at a very bad time people were not ready to trust another rich person in charge. Plus he ran a very poor campaign.

First Bold: Actually, "THE WITCH" didnt hurt the sportsman all that bad with the things she signed. She also demonstrated how to eat ones own words on the CCW issue. She came out totally against it, and got a wake-up call, publicly acknowledged she oopsed. one point for her.

Second Bold: Typical Democrat. That's what happens when they get in office and they want to spend more than the checking account has in it. (reference "She's wanted to raise taxes from the very beginning." Apparently she is fooling a lot of voters. Or is that what the majority truly wants???

Third Bold: Devoss is shady?? How do you know??? Have you met him? Do you work for/with him? Is he hittin on your wife? I have heard political propaganda yes, and being human, people will talk on you for sure, but shady??

Fourth Bold: Hate to say this, but the Lansing politicians have been rippin us blind regardless of who the governor is. Just a question of who is in charge as to where the money goes.

Granholm's re-election was a part of the national "referendumb" vote. The democrats enjoyed a major victory because the american public FORGOT about the serious intensity of 9/11 and became complacent. Too bad Bush didnt tell the world "DONT TREAD ON ME" and simply anhialate the northern Iraq area.

Limbaugh's rant I pretty much agree with. The rest of the country is gonna find out how miserable we are with their own dose if Hillary gets in office. Think very seriously about how much she has flip flopped the last several years just on middle east circumstances alone. We simply cannot afford to go into the world half baked. We seriously need to take a stand, and stick to it, WITHIN OUR OWN BORDERS. Fix our house then keep it that way.

I truly fear the rest of the world is getting tired of the USA being the world police. Quite frankly, near as I can tell, we are still killing more people violently in this country every day than are being killed in the war in the middle east.

Complacency WILL destroy this country. Our offspring are the ones who will suffer through it.

Just got this one....seems to fit the thread...

A little boy wanted $100.00 very badly and prayed for weeks, but nothing happened.
Then he decided to write God a letter requesting the $100.00.
When the postal authorities in Royal Oak received the letter to God they decided to send it to Gov. Granholm.

She was so amused that she instructed her secretary to send the little boy a $5.00 bill.
The governor thought this would appear to be a lot of money to a little boy.
The little boy was delighted with the $5.00 bill and sat down to write a thank-you note to God, which read:

Dear God: Thank you very much for sending the money. However, I noticed that for some reason you sent it through Lansing, MI and those assholes deducted $95.00 in taxes.

I have a CCW are you against it? Sounds like it. The police are all for it. How come you never see the news report about it? Crime rate is down, gee I wonder why!!!!!! It's because of the CCW laws. She doesn't want to admit it. Even with a decrease in the police force, crime is going down.
Like someone mentioned, Voss had a bad campaign. He had more negative comming out than positive.

DeVoss?? I didnt hear the negatives per se. He got my vote, albeit, I will say I was a bit hesitant, and likely for the same reasons he didnt get elected. Just a bit too "Ross Perrot", and I think it scared people.

I would of liked to see the whole shut down blow up in her face. 1st send the bitch and her crook husband packing in a garbage truck back to Canada. 2nd see the whole Michigan legislatures unemployed. Now that would of been justice served.

I did not vote for her either!!!! The problems with Devoss was Amway and he did not put her in her place in the debates! She walked all over him and he let her, it was embarrassing! I know here in Oakland county that was allthat was talked about was how he would not stand up to her!

I stilled voted for devoss but the three key items I feel he did wrong was 1. his ads went from telling us what he could do for Mi to 100% bashing her in every ad TV, radio and paper. 2. The debates he needed to educate the people if you want to do business in China you need to follow their laws and setup shop there. 3. In the debates at least two different times she ask him about layoffs at Amway all he had to do was explain layoffs or cuts are necessary at some point in every successful company, business, and even running the state. You can not just go to you customer and say “we need to raise the price because our sales are down” unless you the governer I guess.

Well guys, I hate to admit it, but I disagree w/ Rush. States like Washington & Oregon are very liberal, and they are thriving! Yes, our state is going down the toilet and Jenny didn't do anything about it, but Lansing hasn't done much for several years. Our state has been degrading, and this is what it has come down to. It's not gonna get better soon--young people are leaving and the population is getting older. They havta raise income tax--less people work! How Lansing did not see this or prepare for it is beyond me. If anyone of us did our jobs like our lawmakers have done, we'd have been long gone. How do you start to rebuild when things are so mucked up?

Hmm, Michigan vs. Washington and Oregon. Isnt that where the "peta" folks hang and all the protest/demonstration signs are made?? Where they think spotted owl screws in a particular type tree and debate over it? I dont get the analogy.

Dont worry about disagreeing with "Rush". One day you will grow up and realize the bigger picture. It happened to me, and we all go through it. IF the democrats control washington, your opinion will change. I believe the Carter administration did a pretty good job of smearing the egg on the face of the United States. It's not the person, it's the policy and politics.

Youre not old enough to remember the Blanchard days here in Michigan, and no history book is going to truthfully explain it. Michigan is in a "Replay" of the Blanchard days. Why is Oakland County doing just fine with it's budget, and everyone else struggling? Politics in Lansing is to blame for the states economy. Period.

Realistically sit down and research just where the money is going after it gets into Lansing. Realize the diminished DNR, Michigan State Police, Motor Carrier Enforcement, and Corrections Personnel. We are the largest fresh water supply in the world. Miles of border with a foreign country. Has Lansing forgotten 9/11?? Cutting back while receiving federal grants to protect our borders and enhance homeland security, and essentially, doing nothing to increase our security, which will one day prove to be very costly. Our road conditions are horrid, and it's my understanding we are paying big bucks for out of state advertising trying to lure tourism. (there was a time our out of doors spoke for itself, what happened?)

Raising taxes and user fees is not the answer. It's the quality that Michigan is lacking. More money is not going to fix that. Arrogance and Ignorance are two reasons why Lansing didnt see this coming. Or did they?

Wonder how long it will take for the state to impose a .06c on the dollar charge for all cash received back at the cash cages in the casinos, win lose or draw?

All this bs could have been avoided had Michigan focused on attracting small and mid sized business to the state instead of being totally focused on one industry. A thriving economy needs to be a deversified economy. The State needs to tighten it's belt the same as households do when times get tough. The raising of taxes is exactly what shouldn't be done. Lower taxes help business invest and grow and that puts people to work. When people are working the state the states income goes up...period. Raising the income tax and expanding the sales tax to other services was the wrong way to go.

Before the elections, Debbie Dingle (dingbat) would whine and carry on about the republican controlled situation in lansing, complain complain complain. Now that her party is in, it's why cant we all just get along and swallow the poison pill together. Grannyholm is blaming the legislature saying she proposed back in february a penny increase on the sales tax and both sides shot it down. This whole thing isnt her fault. I beg to differ, she held the whole damn state hostage, threatened to shut Michigan down if her demands werent met, and is now playing it like both sides came together. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Her no bid contract award to a personal friend to build a new state police headquarters that nobody acknowledges was even needed is the icing on the cake. They have lots of places to trim the fat, but that will piss off the lobbyists, who by the way she blames for getting golf course greens fees and legal fees exempted from the service tax. Says she wanted it across the board.

NO DOUBT! She wants tax increases, she gets tax increases.
Right now I think she is the biggest failure in trimming the pork from the status quo in Lansing, but she is singing the song it's the fault of the house and the senate.
